This review is from: ¿Dónde está el ombliguito? Un libro para levantar la tapita por Karen Katz (Spanish Edition) (Board book)
My husband is from Colombia, so I'm now totally bilingual and teaching our 11 mth old baby both languages simultaneously. Our son's caregiver is from Venezuela and absolutely adores this book in Spanish and shares it with him frequently. He squeals with delight when reading either language. I will be buying more books from this author. The book is a must have...so very cute.

I like how the questions are simple yet the answers interesting. Where is the baby's ____ to answer with locating it in the picture somewhere - under this, over this, etc. It makes it fun for your little one with being able to interact with the picture (like lifting the shirt or looking behind the bubbles). The cardboard book is sturdy, also.

We have this book in English and my daughter loves it. Since our native language is Spanish, we decided to buy this version as well, but I was disappointed with the translation. Every noun is written using diminutives (ojitos, piececitos, boquita...)not a good idea if the whole point of the book is to teach the body parts names to a Baby. But what I found outrageous is that they even use a word for "hands" that means something else in Spanish: "manitas". When you translate a book to Spanish you should consider that you are doing it for all Latin America, Central America, North America and Spain.
In my opinion, this nice book was completely diminished by a poor translation.

"piececitos",

It's really hard to find board books in the original Spanish, which means the majority of books available are translations that don't have the same rhyme/meter/ease of the original. Our version of this books reads "piececitos" for "feet" which is excessively awkward (less awkward would be "piecitos") and, according to some, incorrect. We're raising our son to be bilingual and since he gets English at school we try to exclusively speak Spanish in the home. It's hard to find culturally/linguistically accurate books in Spanish for him that aren't 1) bilingual and/or 2) sloppily translated. Bummer.

AWESOME way to teach small children Spanish. It's the best book in Spanish that I own (and I own many). My one-year-old and my two-year-old both learned all the body parts and more through this book. They love the cute pictures and pullup flaps. I want to find more books like this one!

Great buy!!! I find with many Spanish or translated books the Spanish is not accurate which is not helpful when trying to teach your children. This product is great and my 2 year old loves it!!

I just ordered this book for my 20 month old son. I am trying my hardest to make sure he learns Spanish and keeps it. He already knows his eyes, ears, nose, mouth, shoulders, knees, head and toes in English so I hoped this book would get him to learn the names of those body parts in Spanish. Its a good book but it is missing alot of important body parts. This book only teaches los ojitos (eyes), la boquita (mouth), el ombliguito (belly which me and my husband teach him pansa for belly so he is now totally confused), los piececitos (feet),las manitas (hands), and the last page is Donde esta mi bebe (where is my baby) which I thought wasnt needed. So I like this book I just wish it included more body parts.

I thought it was a little over done to put "ito" after EVERY SINGLE part of the body. I understand the diminutive is commonly used, but not THIS much. This was over-kill. of course it can be easily rectified by just taking out the "ito" when you read it to your kiddo though.

My 18 month old daughter loves this book. My husband and I do also, except for the fact that all of the names of the body parts are written with "ito" at the end. (used to say it is small) I would prefer "boca" and not "bociquita", or "ojos" instead of "ojitos". Other than that it is a great book. Especially with the flaps.
