Whitaker, the founder of Toolbox Training (toolboxtrainingonline.com), entered the child care profession in 1987. He oversaw programs for preschool through middle-school age kids and conducted hundreds of workshops for adults working with children. He served on the Missouri School-Age Care Coalition and Missouri Accreditation state boards as well as the Parents As Teachers Family Network board. He taught for the School-Age Care degree program at Concordia University in St. Paul, MN. He has a Master of Education with a focus on Creative Arts in Learning and a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication. Since 2013, he has worked for the Francis Institute for Child & Youth Development.
He also shares his passion for music via DavesMusicDatabase.com which is devoted to the collection, consolidation, and promotion of music history and best-of lists.
