Nice for the Purpose
on November 22, 2006
First, how much can you expect from a $50 item that holds that many photos? I bought one of these for each of my parents (in their 60's). They're wonderful little token gifts that they can carry around with them and feel like they have a lot of pictures of their grandchildren and family. The quality of the pictures is not great - actually, borderline good. Very grainy - sometimes hard to see. But, again - what can you expect?
If you're looking for a nice little gift for a family member who doesn't use digital cameras, isn't tech savvy, and will be impressed by the fact that you can even store pictures on such a small device - this is a great gift. If you're into technology and use digital cameras, photo software and know what it means to download/upload - this will probably not meet your expectations.
I give it 4 stars as far as gift value goes. If I were rating the technology alone - it would be 1 or 2.
Hope that helps! We're keeping ours for the grandparents - but they probably aren't things we'd buy for ourselves.
