Customer Reviews

The water flow is actually better than the older 1.5 GPM aerator.

We are so thankful for the savings in water for brushing our teeth and washing our hands in the bathroom, as well as for the savings in the kitchen!
Nicki
The spray pattern looks kind of like water coming out of a mini shower head only much less force.

How fast and easy it is to install this great water saving device. I installed 3 thru-out my house in all the bathroom sinks. Should pay for themselves in about 2 months. Will update my review in a few months, to report back the savings, but going from 2.0 GPM to 0.5 GPM is pretty much a no brainier, you will use less water, and you will therefor save money. This video shows how easy it is to switch them out, and what the water flow looks like before and after install. Thanks for watching, and add them on your next order from amazon!!!

I bought these to reduce water use by my roommates. The flow was substantially reduced, and the force of the spay is medium/low. This low force was desirable in my half-bath because the previous aerator had so much force it would splash water everywhere.

These would not be recommended if it is necessary to fill the sink frequently because it would take forever. Also note that the spray pattern is laminar, meaning it uses a bunch of tiny solid streams instead of mixing a bunch of air into the water.

Our family is growing and I recently received a water bill that motivated me to purchase some conservation products. I chose the .5 gpm aerator for ALL the bathrooms in our home because I was looking for the lowest gallon per minute aerator. The spray pattern is good for hand washing. The water force is medium/low. If you're someone who drinks from the bathroom faucet in the middle of the night out of dehydration and desperation you will be disappointed in the spray pattern and may get a face full of water instead of a drink. The water comes out in a circle of individual streams. The spray pattern looks kind of like water coming out of a mini shower head only much less force. I wish this product came in brushed nickel and brass finishes, but I care more about conservation than matching so, chrome it is. We really like the product and would recommend this aerator to anyone looking to save water and money.

So I ordered this little guy when my water bill was a bit more than I had anticipated. It certainly doesn't help when my girlfriend leaves the faucet running the ENTIRE time she washes her face or brushes her teeth. This aerator certainly decreases flow. I did my own experiment, I grabbed a measuring cup from my kitchen and timed how long it took to fill it with my old aerator, 8.5 seconds. Then, I installed the niagra .5 low flow, and timed it again, 30 seconds! This is perfect for washing hands, brushing teeth. Shaving might be a task, but whatever. I've got a 1gpm on the way for the kitchen. 0.5 would be just too little for dishes.

I only gave this thing 4 stars b/c the picture is deceiving. There is no screen, it is NOT an aerated flow pattern. It is a "laminar" pattern which is multiple little streams flowing in a cone shape. Oh, keep in mind, I couldn't get a great seal with either of the 2 gaskets that came with the aerator. So I used the gasket from the old aerator. Sealed right up!

The product does what it should, but the ultra-low flow could make it unsuitable for some users. Specifically, if you have a long run from your hot water heater to the faucet where this is installed, it can take a loooooooong time for the hot water to arrive. It's great for the half-bath in our basement, which is close to the water heater and is used only for handwashing, but I go with 1.0 and 1.5 gpm flow aerators in the rest of the house.

it slows the flow as advertised but the spray pattern could be better. it forms a hollow circle that is nearly 2" in diameter by the time it reaches the base our average bathroom sink. This is just fine for washing your face but really isnt ideal for tooth brushing as at least half the stream isn't usable for rinsing the brush.

Reduced water flow very well, perfect for washing hands, shaving, brushing teeth. As long as you understand that your water flow will be seriously reduced (the purpose of the item), I'm sure you'll love it. Spreads the flow around evenly and nicely, simple to install, high quality metal, not cheap plastic, very happy with purchase. Thank you Niagara.

Fully functional design. Only problem for me is that the water flow is too low for washing dishes. perfect for a bathroom sink. Also if you have very high water pressure in your house the water jets come out really fast and they splash everywhere when you put your hands in the water.
