4.0 out of 5 stars As Dream Books Go, This One Is Excellent
I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because it is missing a few entries. For example, one night, I dreamt of lingerie and an electrical post, neither are found in the book. No dream book is perfect, I suppose, making the title an honest one. It does have a pretty in-depth index and it is not negative as some dream books tend to be. I have owned many dream books in...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Up to Par
Now normally I love reference books, but this one really bit the dust for me. I do not like how the book is set up in terms of themes instead of alphebetically. I know this sounds trivial but it is indeed hard for me to look anything up quickly this way. I have to always go to the index and the go to the section/page that the word is located. And depending on what you're...

I have owned many dream books in my lifetime and this is one of the best. If you like dream books, I definitely recommend this purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on dream symbols out there, December 3, 2011

This review is from: 20,000 Dreams (Hardcover)
I have over 50 books on dream symbols and this is the best one out there. I have not come up with but one or two symbols in all these years 20+ that was not in this book. the index makes it very easy to look up the exact symbol you want to know about. stay away from dream books that say this is a good omen or a bad omen those are worthless in a real interpretation.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not Up to Par, May 9, 2008
This review is from: 20,000 Dreams (Hardcover)
Now normally I love reference books, but this one really bit the dust for me. I do not like how the book is set up in terms of themes instead of alphebetically. I know this sounds trivial but it is indeed hard for me to look anything up quickly this way. I have to always go to the index and the go to the section/page that the word is located. And depending on what you're looking up, you may be looking in several sections of the book. Now this book is one of the most comprehensive as far as terminology goes, however the dream meanings/definitions are extreamly short and barely to the point. I was lucky to find two sentences devoted to the meaning of a certain word I was looking up, and I am not exagerating my lack of enthusiam with this here.

I gave this book two stars simply because of the fun, light, and beautiful illustrations found within. This does make the book more approachable for those who are not trying to discover the science of their dreams. I would reccomend this book for those who find dream dictionarys fun instead of something to be studied. Young adults would appreciate this book as it would be fun for parties and such. People who are just "getting into the dream book thing" would probably like this also. But if you are like myself and look for archetypal meaning and find a great wealth of information and satisfaction from the study of dreams, then this is not the book for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Deciphering your symbols, August 27, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 20,000 Dreams (Hardcover)
I received my first book and have been able to decipher each symbol of my dream accurately .. i have been able to say no to a man who wanted to come into my life "again" and the dream showed what the result would be if i did. I have had dreams showing what others long distance have experienced, to the point that altho i normally think your stretching the truth, was in fact true based on the dream. I have noted the changes in the dreams that allow for premenitions around the world, Earth events to Diseases and war. The Book is one of a kind, and is on the mark, its up to the translator to remember that if one word isn't in there, i'm sure that its named a few other things.. or.. has something similar... like tickle. Not there. But aggravating or irritating is.. Don't waste time if your not a dreamer.. let the dreamers of many dreams purchase this book. It is outstanding.. and the quality of your dream depends on how you want to translate it.. you will know if you got it right when the evidence shows up. because that's what dreams usually do.. show a state of something, or an eventual event that is about to occur, or something that needs to be closer looked at..

2.0 out of 5 stars Mary Summer Rain, March 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 20,000 Dreams (Hardcover)
The book was posted to Australia and when we opened it the spine of the book had completely separated from the pages and we had to do some surgery to fix it, which was a bit of a shame for the gift recipient. Otherwise the book was posted and received promptly.

I love this book. For anyone who is interested in understanding their dreams.....this is the one book you should own. This author is known for her honesty and I trust her completely with her meanings to dreams. She is not some author who is out to make a quick buck. Check out her other books if you are interested in the mysteries of life and of yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best dream book ever!, June 10, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: 20,000 Dreams (Hardcover)
When Mary Summer Rain fans see this book they'll realize why Mary has published a *third* dream book. This book is arranged by topic--like Mary wanted her other two books to be arranged. This means, for example, if you want to know about colors, colors are all together in one place. Or anything to do with transportation--all in one place. Numerous topics are arranged like this. Not only that, but the whole book is filled with fun colored artwork to make reading all that more interesting.

This is a wonderful book! I predict that 20,000 Dreams will become a best seller in the dream category--maybe even for the general public. I'd say BUY IT while you can still get the hardback copy. It will be your main dream reference for years to come. It's a big oversize 550 page book with an index. Finally Mary must have her wish to see the ultimate dream book published in an attractive, fun easy-to-read format!
