From that class I was inspired to buy her "1000 Low-Calorie Recipes" cook book. I also bought a copy for my sister. So far I've made the following from it:
Autmn parsnip puree
Caramelized red, white and yellow onion soup
Mushroom herb sauté
Miso dressed vegetables
Banana nut smoothie
100 calorie dark chocolate chip cookies
Ginger chicken , broccoli etc stir fry
Sticky Lebanese cinnamon chicken
Poblano corn soup
zesty lemon squares
Every single dish I've made, except one, has been incredibly good. I am a total believer in the talents of Jackie Newgent. By the way the one dish that I didn't like probably wasn't good because I changed the recipe so much. (I didn't have what I needed). Anyway, look at that list of stuff I've made so far!!!
The book is set up beautifully as well. It's easy to follow and it tells you all you need to know about the portions and calories, etc.Read more ›

I purchased this cookbook after previewing it online. However, the recipes are more elaborate with longer ingredient lists than I anticipated. Read morePublished on January 30, 2013 by Terri R.
