I love all things Victorian and didn't know of the new "Steam punk" term.

I just received my copy of 1000 Steampunk Creations today and I love it. For the price you can't beat it. It's 320 pages in a stiff paperback/hardback with quality printing (no printing issues noticed).

The book is divided into the following chapters:
Modified Technology
Fine Art and Sculpture
Home Decor
Hats and Accessories
Jewelry
Inventions and Contraptions
and includes and image directory, artist directory and resources.

There is a very very short introduction, and the rest of the book is nothing but pictures and captions. So, at 320 pages this gives you an idea of the amount of material presented (1000 creations as the title mentions).

It's a must for Steampunk enthusiasts, and at this price I'd say if you are an artist or other creative type I would pick this one up. Highly recommended.

This is the book that Monsieur Vernes referenced for inspiration. 1000 full color photographs of arguably the best Steampunk inventions, mods, art, clothing, and stage productions currently available. I am amazed and inspired with each submersion into this Victorian Sci-Fi documentary; it depths continually revealing new treasures.

The title is a little misleading in that there are 1000 photographs, but several items are featured in two or three of these 1000 as detail views. There is an image directory in the back that gives brief explanations of each photo.

A must have for the collector, inventor, and writer and well worth the price.

Hi,

I've relied on Amazon reviews to steer me to consumer success for years. After the purchase of this book I find myself obligated to write this, my very first review, to give back to the community I've relied on for so long. And as such I give you an unbias, practically sound, and factually based review.

A cohort and myself bought this book in hopes of supporting our well versed research into the world of steampunk. We're working on our own game and supporting storyline and have purchased a few resources to further educated ourselves in any and all aspects of the genre. We're generally laid back fellas and have appriciated every book we have purchased thus far in at least one way or another. We're glass half full kind of guys. I think most steampunk fans are. And it is without reservation that I must say there is not a single desirable aspect about this book. It's not that *we* did not like this book. But rather it is that I belive this book would benefit no one for any reason in any circumstance whatsoever. Let me explain.

This book literally is a compilation of 1000 pictures. You would think this would be easy to nail. And is why we purchased the book before any reviews were posted. So, let me explain how and why this book did fail at something so simple. There are no words in this book at all. No gadget titles, no short explainations, no author references, nothing. On each page is literally a few pictures. That's it. There are numerous repeated pictures meaning the title of the book is a complete lie. To be clear, this book, entitled "1000 steampunk creations", in fact as much less than 1000 steampunk creations. It contains numerous angles of the same creation on multiple occasions.

This glossy, detailed book is a fabulous reference for any Steampunk fan. With page after page of sharp photos the reader is provided with a seemingly endless list of names for an Etsy binge, as well as inspiration for his/her own creations. A gorgeous display of artistic talent!

Gives a big selection of the Steampunk world. Learned what goes into making an item Steampunk. Good for inspiration for creating your own Steampunk statement. Reads much like a sales catalog. Would have liked more discussion of the Steampunk world. Recommend for the curious and those looking for Steampunk gear and fashion.

A small catalog of the wonderful creations of a few artists following the "steampunk aesthetic". Wood, brass, re-purposed objects, style, and class.
