Obstetrician/gynecologist McIlhaney offers here a compendium of information for women constructed in a question-and-answer format. He addresses important women's health issues, from general health concerns to specific topics such as infertility, marital relationships, and abortion. Most of the information and advice he presents is sound, and his book is very readable. However, as a Christian physician, McIlhaney does have a strong, pervasive moral and religious point of view. For example, he writes: "Life clearly begins at the moment of conception. It does not matter at what stagea pregnancy is terminated, a life is destroyed and a person no longer exists." Also: "Children need a strong foundation of morality and faith to survive the storms of life." He includes numerous biblical references. To all of you women and teens..This book is absoultely the best women health book I myself has ever read. This book has great things involving childbirth,pregnancy,sexually transmittes diseases, basic problems and answers to questions women would like to know. It also has great answers following them. I read this book and it is great! If you wanted to get a great book for women on all kinds of questions and health care buy this book!! There are many intersting chapters with things that I recently read and didn't even know exsisted! This book would make a good present for a teenager or just a book that would be very handy to have yourself!

This book is full of information, but many of the questions are repeated in various places throughout the book. This tends to duplicate some information. Also, the index wasn't as hearty as I would have liked. I had difficulty looking up some basic topics.

On the whole, this book is a great resource. It covers everything and did provide greater detail than I had seen in other books.

This is an outstanding book written by a very knowledgeable and caring Christian OB/GYN doctor. I have referred to it so many times during the past 20 years that I can't even count (I started out with the original 1980's hardback and then recently purchased this updated paperback -- wish they had printed it in a hardback also!). It has helped me immensely and has given me answers to many of my questions that I received no help at all on from local doctor visits. This is a book that every woman could benefit from reading. Book is divided into sections by subject and is in question and answer format, which makes it extremely easy to find answers on EXACTLY whatever you are trying to find out about. The author has a gift for imparting information in a pleasant, extremely easy-to-understand way, and covers every single thing I can think of that an OB/GYN doctor would be asked about.
