Twice the Villains. Twice the Action

Our story begins deep in murky, watery depths. You're James Bond, and you're drifting, unconscious. You don't know why – only that you’re struggling for your life like never before. In moments of cognizance, you recall epic moments from the last 50 years. The harrowing chases. The uber-villains. The exotic locales. The girls. What will be your legend if this is the end?

An Iconic 007 Gameplay Experience

In 007 Legends, you'll take on the role of James Bond as played by Daniel Craig, running missions in the most iconic settings of 007's five-decade film history. The places and times remain classified, but each retains the look and feel of the original movies, updated with reimagined characters, expanded gameplay and exciting new plotlines. Which brings us back to your current predicament. The clock is ticking. Will this be yet another close brush with death, or has your remarkably good luck dried up at last? Only you can answer that, Mr. Bond.

Key Game Features

  • Skills - Use your sharp investigative and surveillance skills to hack computers, crack safes, review classified documents and gather intel. Employ the game's stealth-based mechanics -- and your own intelligence -- to do it all like a real covert operative.
  • Action - What would a Bond adventure be without incredible chases and intense fights? Step up the action with Bond's first-rate fighting skills and engage in dynamic freeform melees. Immediate responsiveness and 60-frame-per-second graphics make this the most gripping and interactive Bond experience to date.
  • Gadgets, Weapons and Vehicles - Bond's incredible weapons, gadgets and signature vehicles will be at your disposal as the world's ultimate spy. Take complete control of your vehicle or choose a guided experience to focus more on weapons, gadgets and other action.
  • Missions and Villains - Relive the world-famous spy's most iconic and intense undercover missions from the entire Bond film franchise, including 2012's highly anticipated new installment, "Skyfall."
  • 007 Experiences - Complete different assault, elimination, espionage and defense objectives. Access unlockable and upgradable gadgets and weapons. Customize your experience with the companion AI, which allows for varied gameplay and additional storytelling.
  • A Diverse Multiplayer Experience - Should you choose to team up with (or against) other gamers, the multiplayer campaign offers 12-player online, and 4-player split-screen multiplayer options locally. Players can also challenge friends online on the MI6 Ops leaderboard.

2.0 out of 5 stars A 007 game that I wish was better November 2, 2012
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I can honestly say I am like a kid on Christmas when a 007 game is released. It's something about the 007 theme that makes you feel as if you are really a secret agent. I've been playing the 007 games since Rare came out with the infamous Goldeneye on the N64 and I haven't stopped since. With that said: let's get to the review.

The Graphics:
are simply underdone. I remember when Blood Stone came out a couple of years ago and I was in awe of the graphics even on my then non-HD Television. I put in 007: Legends and I am shaking my head on my new television. My HD Television looks weak with this game. The shading looks pitiful as do the scenery. The game reminds me of the last generation graphics on the PS2 and Xbox. Basic. Blotchy. There's pixelation on the top of the screen. (Note: this is not my television.) The only thing that might save the game's graphics is Daniel Craig's face but even then its not near as impressive. The developers did not try and push the graphics that are so common for today's games.

The Gameplay:
The gameplay is very sketchy at best. There seems to be no flow to the game. I have played on the middle difficult of Agent and it felt like I could never get to that sweet spot. The AI changes so rapidly and inconsistently that is it hard to find a middle ground. I enjoy hard games but this game was just making me frustrated with it's poor gameplay. The AI's are also very strong for their type and theres no seconds to catch your breath before a hit marker pops up on your HUD. Even on Operative, I still felt the inconsistency. The AI's are also very generic and say the same phrases over and over, "He's wounded!". At the end of one of the five phases that are the movies, my head hurt and I had to step away. Now onto the environment... it does not feel like 007. It feels like a very cookie cutter map. You can only really blow up barrels. There's no 007 stunts that make you think, "Hey, Daniel Craig would do that in the movie." You also use your camera for practically everything which is okay but it's interesting at times to try and figure out what you are doing with the different settings. The guns are a saving grace. The customization on the guns allow you to change up what you are doing at key points and add attachments that can really help cut down some AI when you can lock onto them.
The length is quite decent and you keep going through the side objectives and the like.

The Story:
The storylines are the best part of the game and I feel like the developers wanted to keep the same feel of the movies in the game. I feel like they have accomplished this and I did enjoy seeing the famous 007 scenes. However, I wish there was more of a tease of Skyfall. I know that Skyfall is supposed to come out as a separate DLC but I guess it would be easier for them to just release the game with Skyfall included in a few weeks... but hey more bucks down the road.

Multiplayer:
I wanted to like the multiplayer on Xbox Live but I just couldn't. The graphics are pretty terrible and the movement feels like you have something blocking your path when you run. (Like In COD: Black Ops when someone runs too close to you and you slow down.) The same customization really exists in multiplayer as it does in the campaign but it doesen't leave much to the imagination. I feel like this is a rehashed second gen Goldeneye again. It is also quite choppy gameplay that leaves you shaking you head.

Pros:
Length
The classic story
Gun customization in campaign.

Cons:
Terrible graphics
Choppy gameplay
Inconsistent AI
Fight Scenes that you either make it or break it and get reset back.
Multiplayer very slow and non-imaginative.
At times- very boring.

Bottom Line-
I just do not think that this game is the best that it can be. 007 is such an epic franchise with so many beautiful moments (and women) and I think that Eurocom gave a half attempt at it to bank some money. I hate to say it but I think that the remade Goldeneye made actually be even better than this game. I can only give it 2 stars as it just doesn't make you feel the way that 007 should make you feel.

Thanks for reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Pleasing January 15, 2013
Platform for Display:Xbox 360
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I was very pleased when this game came out. I bought it for $60 and wasn't sure if it was going to be good. It was more than I had hoped for. It has everything a Bond lover would want. You have you fighting missions where it is an all out firefight. You have to infiltrate places and they designed this feature very well. It has everything you could want from a Bond game. It might even, in my opinion, be better than the Call of Duty series. The game keeps you hooked with many different stories. Unlike one story and many missions, this game has many stories and each story has two really long missions. I was hooked all the way through. Overall it is a great buy and I loved it.

4.0 out of 5 stars the sharp eye of the spy December 3, 2012

So much fun to play and to watch playing. Great strategic movements, makes you think and is even stressful at some parts, a great way to invest your playing time.
I was involved in all the frantic movement around Bond 50 and Skyfall and of course I got the game too. But I was disappointed because it has no subtitles. Probably new versions might include them, but I will have to stay with the first one that does not have it…

Wish you could be more than one BOND
Same. Initially, that's what I was expecting from Legends. The chance to play the Bonds from Connery to Craig. In the age of DLC, it would be cool to get the skins of the Bonds later on, but they'd have to get the rights and licenses. Probably will not happen. :/

Right now, it's being said that... Read more

James Bond 007 Legends Kinect support?
It does not currently support Kinect. Probably never will, unless we get some DLC that adds Kinect support.

I was disappointed when I learned the truth. Wikipedia listed 007 Legends as a Kinect game at one point, and I was thrilled, but I found out the contributor to the article was relying on... Read more
