Very well done - not your 'usual' Bible study
Besides doing an outstanding job of digging into the word, the authors provide special boxes with Applications ... side bars with additional information -- optional applications -- The 'For the Group' suggestions are very helpful. In all, it is a great divergence from the approach of studies which require nothing more than 'spitting back' what the verse says - literally...

Not as deep as some of the other books in the series
I have the Hebrews book of this same series and absolutely love it; however, the 1,2,3 John is not quite as in depth as the Hebrews. I was a little disappointed.

In all, it is a great divergence from the approach of studies which require nothing more than 'spitting back' what the verse says - literally. This study asks us to think, to discuss, to explore. But it does not waver from the truth of the word.
Thank you for giving me something which is enticing, not boring; exciting, not just titillating; and challenging as well as applicable.

Excellent study guide,

I used this study guide to help facilitate a bible study at my work. It was excellent for our needs ( little prep time, good questions, getting us into the truth of scripture). It is mainly geared towards a discussion/bible study group with others. But would also be an excellent resource if you are looking to study 1,2,&3 john on your own.
I highly recommend this study. |
