I stumbled onto Johnnyswim when a friend, knowing what a huge fan I am of Donna Summer (the mother of Johnnyswim's female singer), sent me a blog post about them. It blows my mind the amount of true artists there are out there who are being completely ignored, or marginalized by the recording industry.

I highly recommend purchasing this EP, looking Johnnyswim up on YouTube and Facebook, and sharing their music with your friends. They are pretty big on the local Nashville scene -- one of the interns at my company was all excited when she heard me playing their music and proceeded to tell me they are phenomenal live. Hopefully they will join the ranks of Laura Izibor, Alice Smith, Citizen Cope, MeShell NdgeOcello -- artists that have a rabid and faithful following and haven't been spruced up by the A&R folks trying to make them into something they aren't.
