This is not a notebook drive. It is the old 2x750GB drives piggy backed, so it will not fit your "notebook".

It is 2.5", and it is SATA, but it will not fit in any laptop or notebook-except in an external enclosure. Notice side views or accurate external measurements are conveniently missing...

It is hard to assign a star value to the product, as the product is not the problem-the seller is. How do you rate the product when the product is mis-represented?

I gave it a 3 by default...

(Edit: Spelling mistake fixed)

There's not much info from the product page, so let me post some:

Capacity: 1500GB
Spindle Speed: 5,400RPM
Interface Type: SATA
Disk Size: 2.5"x15mm (S.F.F. Enterprise)
Electrical Interface Speed: SATA 300 - 3.0Gbps
On-Board Cache: 16MB

The most important info is that this one has a height of 15mm.
Note: regular hdd's as of now have 9.5mm, and most of the SSD's have 7mm height. So this item is considerably thick for a notebook. If you're buying this for a notebook, make sure yours accepts drive with this height. Otherwise, this will not fit.

If you're going to use this a portable drive, it's also hard to find a case that will fit this.

I bought this drive as part of the Go Flex package for doing one time image backups. For some odd reason, I have very back luck with seagate drives in general. Every single unit I ever bought seem to just flake out after minimal usage. This device is the worse. It flaked out on me after I've made two successful HDD image backups. Now it just spins up, click, click, click and then spins down.
This really makes it irritating as my image has personally identifiable information on it, which makes it even harder to take back knowing someone could hack it back at the shop.
Dropping Seagate from my list of drives. I'm going with Western Digital after losing over 16 Seagate drives.

This is an excellent drive but be aware that it is thicker than the ones used inside laptops. I used it in a media player so size wasn't an issues. You might also want to look at the WD 2TB 3.5" drive. These days, the WD drive is probably a better bargain. It is 7200 RPM vs 5400 for this one and the price is coming down fast.

I have bought 3 of these now. 2 of them have failed completely and had to be repleced. They are also extremely slow. Probably ok for a backup device, but I would not recommend this drive for daily use.
