What a disappointment. After years of watching those god awful infomercials I thought I'd finally get an inside peek into this fascinating industry. Instead this book is filled with one cloying New Age cliche after the other (yawn). I can't imagine anyone staying on the phone (paying 4.00 a minute) to hear such dreck. A much better read (and a complete overview of the tele psych biz, including industry secrets and how to actually call a psychic) can be found in Frederick Woodruff's hilarious pop culture artifact: Secrets of A Telephone Psychic.

This is a fascinating and upbeat behind the scenes view of phone in readings, and how a psychic channel tunes in from the level of knowing that "we are One". There is much advice that can be used in your own life from love, work, and money to even greeting a soul before giving birth to nerds and gutsy replies. You will find an example of dealing with a con artist psychic(a la Whoopie Goldberg) to transformation of patterns and living a more meaningful and satisfying life. Underlying all this are beliefs that are written out for you to ponder like the idea that we are loved unconditionally and eternally. You even learn how to prepare for and get the most out of a reading, and how you too thru connecting with your higher self can be psychic too. Donna's book was so interesting that I had to finish it at one reading! Buy it and you will be glad you did!

I just read this book - cover to cover in one reading. 1) because it was concise and I had the time. And 2) (and more importantly) because I could not put it down. The writer's beliefs and mine (stated near the beginning of the book) are basically running parallel. The incidents she chose to write about were beautifully chosen and developed and she gave a wonderful perspective to psychic readings. So many people expect an answer to their life's troubles rather than an objective perspective. The ending really puts the responsibility where it belongs, on the inner voice of each individual, our own in-tuition (teaching from within). I am a 900# psychic and I find theres some good readers such as self...I feel much shame in some of the the readers on how they take great advantage on many clients. I believe the brokers or interviewers should be more caring on who they are hiring. There is alot of truth to the book but If I had wrote a book it would be on the positive on how I helped many people through new age instruction.

This book gave me an eerie feeling about telephone psychics. I for one thought ESP was quite impossible until I read this book,but I still feel the same way about divination. Quite a refrence book to belivers in the sixth sense everywhere!

I loved this book. The book is written like you're having a conversation with your best friend. It is an easy, yet fascinating read and I could not put it down. The stories behind the calls are interesting and the calls themselves speak to the human condition... including grief, depression, joy and love. Buy this book!

Then you should read this book! I worked for a while as a 1-900 psychic, and I can tell you that the types of calls the author writes about are what really does happen. She also talks about what the job was like for her, and touches a little on her personal spiritual beliefs. Some stories are funny, when others are sad. Definitely a good book!
