This is a great book. Two completely different motivational speakers answer fifty questions. You are bound to find the answers you need somewhere between the gentle wisdom of Ian Percy and the 2x4 hard-hitting truths of Larry Winget. My favorite quote from the book:

2.0 out of 5 stars I Love Larry, But . . . .
If you're a fan of either Larry or Ian, you'll recognize every word in this book, verbatim. It's all taken from other material by these two men. Since I already read everything Larry Winget wrote, his "answers" were simply quotes from other (more effective) books.

If, however, you've never read Larry or Ian, this book will be a nice introduction to their...

This is a great book. Two completely different motivational speakers answer fifty questions. You are bound to find the answers you need somewhere between the gentle wisdom of Ian Percy and the 2x4 hard-hitting truths of Larry Winget. My favorite quote from the book:

"Age-old question: Is the glass half empty or half full?

Answer: Who cares?

Does it really matter whether the glass is half full or half empty? The issue is whether it quenches your thirst."

Come learn from two masters. You'll be glad you did.

How many times in life have you wished you had someone steeped with wisdom with whom you could discuss life's toughest questions? If you're like most people, this comes up all too often.

While Larry Winget and Ian Percy haven't attempted to answer all of life's questions, you'll find that they've hit quite a few of the big ones:

Why do idiots always seem to get all the breaks?

How do I know when I've made the right decision?

What don't I know?

What's the secret to getting out of a slump?

I have some real regrets. How do I stop thinking about them?

Are some people meant to be poor and useless?

Why are there so many sad situations in the world?

Can you really change who you are?

Is it really better to give than receive?

Where does confidence come from?

What does it take to be happy?

What does it take to have a good marriage?

Can I really know God?

Why do I find it so hard to forgive?

Why am I so angry?

How do I get fun back into my life?

How do I stop my kids from driving me crazy?

Is there a one-line nugget is wisdom I can live by?

Chances are some of those questions rang a bell with you. If so, this book is a good choice. You can read just the sections that apply in a matter of minutes.

Larry Winget and Ian Percy alternate in beginning their answers. Larry is straight from the shoulder. Ian talks things a little more gently, but doesn't pull any punches.

Here are examples of their answers to Is There Such a Thing as Destiny?

Larry: "No . . . What a load of c___! . . . Create your own destiny. You are going to create it whether you decide to or not."

Ian: "Yes there is. But the really important news is there is a personal destiny given to you and to no one else . . . It isn't imposed on you, it is simply offered . . . ."

As you can see, they don't always agree. That means you have two chances to learn a lesson that resonates with you. Hopefully, if you don't like either answer, you'll go out and find your own better one.

Each answer is pretty short. Both authors have written quite a lot, so you can dive deeper into their materials if you like.

With each answer, you will see a different photograph of the authors. I'm sure you'll find those as amusing as I did.

Larry Winget and Ian Percy alternate in beginning their answers. Larry is straight from the shoulder. Ian talks things a little more gently, but doesn't pull any punches. They are both top professional speakers so you'll find that they communicate effectively. I could hear their voices in my head as I read the material.
