I absolutely loved LOUD MUSIK and couldn' wait for more GRISSOM. I have all the STORYVILLE releases and have been a GRISSOM fan ever since. This is another quality offering from this master. It is a bit more COUNTRY and I therefore couldn't stretch to 5 stars. I'm not into COUNTRY, but as lond as it's played by the likes of GRISSOM and PAISLEY, it transcends all genres and comes out GOOD MUSIK whatever the tag. The instrumentals on this release do it for me big time and are worth the price alone. GRISSOM has such a FAT sound and such a unique way of phrasing, that his cd's are like a blueprint for other guitarists. No noodling and every note has it's place and would be missed if it wasn't there.
If you like musik or the guitar, you should own everything that GRISSOM has released. He's that good.

A great collection of tunes.

There is a lot to like here. Great rock tunes, gritty instrumentals, acoustic laced ballads with the common thread of Dave's superb playing, writing and singing.
Highly recommended for someone seeking truly great new music.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent work by fantastic guitarist/writer, July 17, 2010
This review is from: 10,000 Feet (Audio CD)
As many might, I came to learn of Grissom from his time in Storyville, a group that I still love to hear frequently. This effort from Grissom has several cuts that sound like cuts that he must have contributed to Storyville. Similar beat and guitar work. Other cuts on this sound country-ish, one even bluegrass-ish, but all of them seem to mesh well together. They demonstrate how versatile Grissom really is. He can definitely do more than just the Storyville niche. The only thing that keeps this from being 5 stars is his voice. He is off key a few times, and his vocals are a bit thin. Other than that, superb collection and great addition to my guitar-freak addiction.

This is a very good record. I rarely give 5 stars, but I would recommend this to anyone. Its well constructed, well written and the musicians on the record are all top notch. Worth the money !!
