This is one of my favorites from Fly Away Home. I keep thinking of the geese when I hear this, makes me weep.

If you liked the movie "Fly Away Home", you must surely remember the hauntingly poignant love song that opens the movie and plays throughout. Mary Chapin Carpenter's reading of the 18th century English folk balad, "Fare Thee Well", was the perfect choice for the movie. Although the bit rate could have been higher, the song itself is mesmerizing as it tells its tale of loss and should bring a tear to your eye.

Mary Chapin Carpenter's voice is at its best!

With the watching of the film "Fly Away Home" (Jeff Daniels & Anna Pacquin), I hadn't realized this magnificant piece had bee ndone by Mary Chapin Carpenter. As with 95%+ of all of her other pieces, this will no doubt go on to be a classic - and a "stand-alone" one at that - it's that good!! Wonderful vocals and an equally wonderful musical score - very soothing and peaceful to listen to!

My daughter and I love the movie and this is where we first heard 10,000 miles. The melody is beautiful. I enjoy listening on my Ipod shuffle when I work out. It is soothing and I am looking forward to receiving my H2O player for listening when I swim laps. Hopefully, it will cut down of the drag of laps!

"10,000 Miles" is hauntingly beautiful song. I first heard it recently while watching the old movie "Fly Away Home," and the music just stayed with me afterwards. I felt compelled to buy it and am not sorry I did. I just love it and enjoy listening to it.

This was one of the greatest songs that Mary Carpenter had wrote, this is the original sound track and I would tell you that this is the song that she did in the movie about the Goose that the little girl saved in the movie

Someone has to give credit where it's due - and it's not due only to MCC (whose voice is perfect, and perfectly subdued, in this performance): Mark Isham is responsible for this astonishing arrangement. Gorgeous.
