5.0 out of 5 stars At Last, some truthful, Biblical principals to make your marriage great!
Wonderful principals that can be immediately put into practice in your marriage. I was so tired of hearing the same ol thing, "I don't 'deserve' this, I have to look out for myself, he doesn't understand me" If we are thinking of the other person first, it is difficult to be focused on ourselves. A must read for weak and strong marriages alike.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good book - even though it's not one I would normally choose!
This book is a collection of stories and helps for married couples within the `framework' of the 10 Commandments.

Normally, this would not be a book that I would pick up in a bookstore due to the "cheesy" (in my mind) title but, there are some really great helps in this book for married couples.

Its always nice to read a book that goes back to...

This book is a collection of stories and helps for married couples within the `framework' of the 10 Commandments.

Normally, this would not be a book that I would pick up in a bookstore due to the "cheesy" (in my mind) title but, there are some really great helps in this book for married couples.

Its always nice to read a book that goes back to the Bible for principles, and Ed Young does this throughout.

A quick run down of the topics covered are: Selfishness, Boundaries with Parents, communication, conflicts, debt, sexual tempation, forgiving your mate, keeping passion within your marriage, being able to begin again with your mate - and building a winning team.

While this book may not have been high on my reading list, I think that the heart is in the right place. And to be honest, I did learn a couple new things in the process.

This book would be a great book to read together if you are looking for something easy to enjoy and share with your spouse. With questions at the end of each chapter, it would give you and your mate some great conversation starters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top 10 Things to do to jumpstart your marriage, December 18, 2007
This book is fun enough to keep your interest and yet still brings out great lessons each of us need to address in our marriages. We used this as a group study in our young married adults class at church in the place of regular Sunday School with great results. It prompted great discussion and was even useful for another couple that needed some real help in the marriage. The author also wrote a book about parenting with a similar title that we went through as well. Very helpful, with some great insights to some of the basic problems in marriages today.

I bought this book and read it. After reading it I invited some couple friends my wife and I had to do the same. We then had a study group for several nights. I think we all agreed that by following the "commandments" this book lays out we will all have a much more fulfilling marriage.

It changed the way I understood the marriage covenent and has brought my wife and I closer together.

5.0 out of 5 stars great book, July 15, 2009
This review is from: The 10 Commandments of Marriage: The Do's and Don'ts for a Lifelong Covenant (Paperback)
This book was an easy read and had great points to help a marriage, whether it is failing or in good shape. I enjoyed it emensely. It contained views from both sides, the husband and wife, and had great scriptures that you could read to go along with it.

This book was good for a new couples Small Group. The 10 Commandments are clearly explained and will definately spark some discussions with your spouse. I recommend to read this book along with your spouse, and you will get much more out of the discussions, instead of reading it alone.

This is a "must" for all married couples. Sample chapter:"Thou shalt cut the apron strings" resonates for parents and adult children alike. Easy to read with great ideas for getting along with each other. Presented with Bible references and insightful questions. Highly recommended for all who want a successful marriage.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, not Great, May 1, 2009
This review is from: The 10 Commandments of Marriage: The Do's and Don'ts for a Lifelong Covenant (Paperback)
This book has an average amount of good advice, but it doesn't have anything remarkable. It's good for a discussion group, but pales in comparison to Shaunti Feldham's books For Women Only and For Men Only.

5.0 out of 5 stars the 10 commandments of marriage, September 26, 2011

This review is from: The 10 Commandments of Marriage: The Do's and Don'ts for a Lifelong Covenant (Paperback)
i loved this book just like i love ed young and his wife. the 10 commandments of marriage book is very similar to Gary Chapman's-the 5 love languages for couples. i truly feel both books should be referred to various pastors and/or churches as part of referred premarital counseling suggested books. wow my husband and i have learned so much about ourselves individually and collectively about one another.this book truly helps marriages: never underestimate the power of love.also i love the fact that ed young is VERY DOWN TO EARTH,you know REAl. he keeps it 100%.i truly suggest that couples give it a read, critique it,compare yourself and your mate and finally put in to practice what you've read.oh and the fact that it also has bible references included is A PLUS. May God Bless YOU-MR. and MRS.ED YOUNG!!!!!!!!!!!!
