Popping the dots makes counting lots of fun.
Joyce Gonzalez
The only thing I dislike is that it is a boring book to read...It has the same "10 little monkeys" rhyme on every page, counting down from 10 to 1.
Katie J Coverstone
This book is very thick and sturdy for those rough toddlers.

I bought this book because my 17 month old son already has the same type of book but with the old mCdonals farm animals. This one is just OK. Since it's just monkeys jumping on a bed, each page is repetitive. The pop dot does not pop very well either some of them don't even make the pop sound. I highly recommend buying the old mcdonald version of this book instead of this one with the monkeys.

The binding on this book isn't strong enough--the book fell apart under its own weight within 1-2 months. This was a huge disappointment, because my toddler twins loved it. I did my best to fix and reinforce it with tape and glue, but nothing helped. We didn't subject the book to any special wear and tear; I read it together with my kids so they wouldn't be rough with it. But the spine started pulling apart less than a month after we bought it, and the whole thing was essentially dead within two months.

Overall good concept.... with a few minor flaws. Who doesnt enjoy a good pop now and than? The way the book is set up, you have one popper shared for two pages. So you pop the circles, which pushes them in, flip the page and your pops are now ready to pop again...because the way the plastic is in the popper, it makes a louded noise going one direction than the other. Thats why you get some complaints a few poppers dont work. They do, just cant get the same effect when going opposite direction. If you hold the pages away from each other you get a better response. Dont always work good when child doesnt want to wait.
Other draw back, book thickness wears on bind. Going to make this a book we do together to prolong book life.
Hope this was helpful, I tried to explain it, hopefully it made a little sense. Going to post pictures under images ....check them out

We purchased this book about two years ago for our then two old son. He really enjoyed it and still does now, a few months shy of four years old. Our youngest, now 18 months, also LOVES this book! There are very few toys or books that she'll play with herself, but this one will occupy her for at least 15 minutes at a time. The things you poke are starting to show some wear after two years of heavy (read: daily) use, but they are still functioning. I suspect we'll have to replace the book within six months or so. This book has provided my two youngest children lots of enjoyment and fun! I very highly recommend it! Heck, even I like poking the dots in a pop-the-bubble-wrap way!

My kids love this book! It is so much fun to turn the pages and pop the "bubbles" :) The only thing I dislike is that it is a boring book to read...It has the same "10 little monkeys" rhyme on every page, counting down from 10 to 1. Not much of a story. But it is bright and colorful, and fun to pop, so the kids don't care:) (I have a 3yo and 16mo)

I bought this for my 2 year old grandson. Now instead of popping the packing material that comes in packages that I receive, he can poke the dots in this great book. He is a lover of noise and this book is perfect. It teaches him to count to 10 both forward and backward (1-10 and 10-1), he interacts with the poke a dots that appear on each sturdy page, and is one of the few things that holds is attention for quite a while. The book is very sturdy and will hold up after many readings. The pages are made of very thick board material which would be very hard to destroy. I read it to him every time he visits and as I am reading he is popping and counting the pops on each page. Each monkey has a poke a dot which adds to his enjoyment. The illustrations are funny and both him and I are quite amused by them. The noise does not drive you crazy since the pops are small and make just enough noise to satisfy him. He no longer pops the plastic packing material which used to drive me crazy since each pop sounds like an M80 (firecracker)just went off. This is one of his favorite books. He loves to interact with his books so I buy him pop up books, books that have moveable pictures and books that make sounds. This is the best book in those categories that I have found and I wish that there were more like it. It is much better then the ones that play songs since it gets annoying after a while hearing the musical box sound being played over and over again. This is definitely a keeper.

We LOVE this book at our house! Never gets old!

Appeal:
-interactive & sound making (push the poke a dot holes to make it POP!)
-sing song reading book (familiar tune & words for everyone to say along)
-engages both our infant/toddler & preschooler
-easy enough for little hands to work the pop buttons
-sturdy board book, somewhat wipeable pages, holding up well to daily use (both the book pages, binding & the actual pop bubbles) -so far!
-very reasonable price
-no batteries to change

Only drawbacks:
-heavy, big book, a true whopper - my little one wants it all the time but can't carry it alone without falling over & dropping it on his feet--worry he or the book will get seriously hurt
-due to weight, need careful handling to preserve the binding, wish it was sturdier so I could leave kids to use it alone

It's one that I don't regret buying at all & would recommend without hesitation! Good gift item, too!
