4.0 out of 5 stars Intelligent way to start the day
I work a Mensa puzzle every morning with my coffee and the combination is a delightful way to warm my brain up for the day ahead. The puzzles are challenging but not as difficult as the "Mensa" designation might indicate.

3.0 out of 5 stars Appropriate Title for Calendar
I bought this at the beginning of the year and so far has lived up to it's name. The puzzles take me more than ten minutes to do but that's good. That means they are just a little harder than I'm used to. They aren't as hard as the New York Times crosswords and they aren't as simple as those Easy crossword books you buy at the supermarket checkout.

I bought this at the beginning of the year and so far has lived up to it's name. The puzzles take me more than ten minutes to do but that's good. They aren't as hard as the New York Times crosswords and they aren't as simple as those Easy crossword books you buy at the supermarket checkout.

The only drawback to this calendar is that it's too small. I have pretty good eyesight and the questions are a little hard to read and the puzzle itself is hard to write in. The paper dimensions of each sheet are 5 1/4 inches by 4 1/2inches with the 15x15 box puzzle being a little more than 2 1/4 inches square. Thats really tight. I had to buy a extra fine roller ball pen to make the letters small enough to fit in the boxes.

One thing I do like is that you can get an extra online calendar for free when you buy this. I have a wordsearch puzzle emailed to me every morning,

2.0 out of 5 stars Too easy, January 30, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Most of the puzzles were too easy. I didn't even bother with them after the first couple of weeks. The Saturday/Sunday ones were the only ones that could be somewhat challenging. I prefer to do the NY Times puzzles.

4.0 out of 5 stars Just right for waking brain gently, February 5, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
These puzzles are not insultingly simple (furry animal that meows) but do not use clues such as "metric distance between uppermost points of Mont Blanc and Finster Aarhorn" or words that appear only in crossword puzzles. I seldom need to refer to the answers that are conveniently on the back of each page but when I do it is an opportunity to jolt the memory or learn a new word.

1.0 out of 5 stars only good for crosswords, January 31, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
this calendar is just a 365 cossword puzzle book. The day and date are small and there is no place to write appointments or reminders on the pages. Very dissapointed.

3.0 out of 5 stars puzzles good, but you need a microscope, January 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I find the puzzles to be challenging enough, (and it's nice to be able to use a hint by looking on the back of the puzzle), but my biggest complaint is the size of the puzzle and the squares. If they had made each page bigger, the size of some of the other page a day calendars, (sudoku, for instance) they would be much better. Also this calendar is not available in the online version.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, January 13, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I just received this and maybe I am hasty, but have started the first two puzzles and they are way too easy- and I am not that smart or MENSA eligible even. I would not have bought this had I known they were not more challenging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Happy daily mix of engrossing entertainment & stimulating fun, December 28, 2009

I thoroughly agree with the prior reviewer on all points. More specifically for me, each of these daily puzzles offer just the right degree of challenge, coupled and balanced with genuine entertainment value, that consistently places an early morning smile on my face.

4.0 out of 5 stars good puzzles but small, May 5, 2009

This review is from: Mensa 10-Minute Crossword Puzzles Page-A-Day Calendar 2009 (Original Page a Day Calendars) (Calendar)
some good puzzles but they are a little small-

people with older eyes like myself may have

trouble with such tiny print
