Book Description

Hamlyn Health & Well Being S. August 28, 2004
This program of facial exercise, massage, and cleansing offers an effective means to delay the onset of age-related skin decline and can be incorporated to supplement alternative forms of skin care. Those who rely on off-the-shelf solutions will find essential information on products’ ingredients and their effects. Those considering surgery will be able to arm themselves with the pros and cons of the most common procedures, learn how to prepare for them, and benefit from exercises to significantly improve and prolong results. Helpful tables located throughout the text list the advantages and disadvantages of various procedures and skin care products. Irrespective of how one chooses to address one’s facial needs, these simple techniques, which take no more than 10 minutes a day, can keep the user looking younger, longer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very useful and easy to follow for a beginner, August 30, 2005

This review is from: 10-Minute Facelift: Lessen the Signs of Ageing the Natural Way (Hamlyn Health & Well Being S.) (Paperback)
I stumbled upon this book at my local library recently and am still going through it. But I have started using its 4-minute facial massage (using olive oil) everyday for past 3 days and am already feeling a difference in my facial skin. It just looks more alive. I must tell that I am 30 years old and have struggled with acne all my youth and adult life and I have tried almost everything out there that my skin can endure with completely unsatisfactory results. So, when I came across this book, I decided to give the program a try. After all what did I have to lose after wasting so much on anti-acne and anti-aging products all these years.
For past 2 days I have also started doing the facial exercises and am still not comfortable with all of them, but am very hopeful about the results. The photos are helpful but I wish there were more illustrations from different angles.

I really like the way book explains about the skin and muscles with good diagrams. Also the information on essential oils is very useful about which I was completely ignorant till now. I plan to try some of the essential oils suitable for my acne prone skin for massage. Like I said above, for the past 3 days I've been using extra virgin olive oil for massage, the same that I use for cooking and haven't used my regular anti-acne moisturizer or night cream and my face doesn't feel dry or my acne worse.

I am going to review a couple more books on this subject but I have almost made up my mind to buy 2 copies of this book 1 for myself and 1 for my elder sister.
