Can't clean properly!,
By
This review is from: 10 OZ SS Food Jar
We bought this exact model from a target store in order to keep our kid's food warm for lunch. It seemed to work well, and the top is very wide so it made for what we thought was easy cleaning.
However, there are two rubber gaskets (one in the lid, one around the edge of the body). After a few weeks, we noticed what looked like a piece of food (like a sliver of basil) sticking out from one of the gaskets. When i tried to pull the piece of whatever out, i noticed that it was not something recent, but icky gunk (old food and bacteria) that was growing underneath the gasket...and there was A LOT of it. Also, upon further inspection, the growth was under BOTH gaskets. I thought if it were possible to pull out the gaskets and could clean everything well, all would be forgiven (even if the cleaning process became more of a hassle). I was able to pull out the gasket on the lid and clean it pretty well (it was super gross, and also some of the gunk had stained the gasket itself). But unfortunately, the gasket in the body is not removable without destroying it (i did this) and therefore there's no way to get at the gunk underneath it. BTW, we use this thermos 5 days a week, and clean it every day when it comes home from school (ok, sometimes later in the evening), so it's not like we let it sit for days to let the gunk grow. Unfortunately, since it's not cleanable, it makes it a 1 star product and i have to recommend that everyone stay away from it.

worked great in NYC in winter,
By
This review is from: 10 OZ SS Food Jar
We went to New York with our one year old in December and I bought this to feed her hot meals while we were out and about.
It worked great! In order to keep it hotter for longer, you have to prep it by pouring boiling water it in and closing it. We left the water in there for about 10 minutes. The food was hot 3 hours later and warm 6 hours later and this was after being out the entire time in 20 degree weather. It's sturdy and it is completely leak proof.

Good lunch Thermos,
This review is from: 10 OZ SS Food Jar
This Thermos is perfect for bringing a single-serving to school or work. It looks smaller than it is--probably fits about a cup of food. Solid little Thermos. Be sure to heat your food up really hot if you want it to keep!

Worked okay for a year,
This review is from: 10 OZ SS Food Jar
I got this for my daughter to take to school for warm school lunches. I realized quickly that the rubber gaskets needed to get thoroughly cleaned every time (all it took was confusion as to why it wouldn't stop smelling like minestrone soup). After about a year of regular use (probably 3 to 5 times a week) it started smelling moldy. I tried cleaning it out with baking soda, denture tablets, and even bleach, but nothing got the smell out, so into the trash it went!

HORRIBLE!!!!!!,
This review is from: 10 OZ SS Food Jar
This thermos is simply HORRIBLE! It seemed to work fine from the beginning after purchasing it at target but eventually it seemed to loose its time it kept the food warm and then ever since that things went way down Jill. You can't easily clean the lid and eventually this simply HORRIBLE smell started coming from it, it smelled like all of the ffod I was putting in it was rotten. Don't buy this product cause now were going to have to spend another $20 on another thermos! We have a thermos that is really good, holds more, looks better, and actually keeps stuff warm! If you would like to see its product description type in SK3000 in the amazon search, it is so much better! Hope this is helpful!Thermos Stainless King SK3000MB4 Food Jar, Midnight Blue is the good thermos I was talking about.

I don't know how they can call this a "thermos"--it did not keep my food warm for even three hours! Absolutely the worst food jar out there.

I bought two of these for post-workout protein shakes. Some nasty funk is stuck in the twist top. I've washed several times, and I can no longer drink from these because the twist top stinks so bad. I have to throw these away.
