I bought these as geocaching containers, and they'll work fine for that but I wanted to share one bit of information that I didn't see covered in any of the reviews. My tubes arrived a little scraped/scratched up. Depending on your use and requirement for optical clarity, that may be important to know. For my use it doesn't matter, but I was a bit surprised that they arrived in a "vegetable style" thin plastic bag with a twist tie or something similar. Just the rustling around in shipping was enough for them to scrape each other a little, apparently.
So: they met my needs perfectly and exactly, but for those of you needing optical clarify for a display or something, you might want to consider other options.

I'm sure there are many uses for these little test tubes... Having a Harry Potter or Science themed party? They're just right!
But for our family, they've got a special use... We're planning a trip back to my daughter's homeland with 2 other families with kiddos from her orphanage. It's common for people traveling to an important place to take a bit of dirt, or a bit of sand, or even some water from that place. These sturdy little tubes will be just the trick! After examining them, I'm pretty sure they'll be water-tight, but I'd put them in a ziploc bag to be sure.
These test tubes are small, lightweight, unbreakable and will travel across the ocean with us to carry back whatever treasures we find...
And the price is great!!!

These tubes were exactly what we needed to store scroll saw blades. Put labels on the outside regarding the type of blade and the necessary blade is easy to identify. They are an inexpensive solution to a storage problem because scroll saw blades are really small!

Great for storing tiny things such as beads or maybe a tiny survival fishing kit or needle and thread etc.... The caps stay pretty solid when attached to the tubes which is good to so they wont come off even when upside down.
