5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Guide For Families That Want To Be Close
Every chapter of this book leaves you with a smile on your face and a warm feeling in your heart. The book gives you very good ideas on how to grow closer to your family while developing their spirituality. The ideas for conversations with children were very helpful. This is a book I will enjoy giving to friends, especially new parents. I will also enjoy rereading...

2.0 out of 5 stars Too loosey goosey
I normally love books such as this one. I did not love this book. After years, I am finally finishing it. It had the potential to be great, but advice is offered in small tidbits. Lots of random quotes from kids and parents. The chapters sound cohesively organized but they are not. It's not tight, not filled with digestible nuggets. What's offered can be good, but it's a...

5.0 out of 5 stars Children's Spiritual Development - Creating a Better World, June 10, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
Giving children the best possible start in life includes fostering their spiritual development. In our fast paced, result-driven world, our emotional and spiritual needs can be overlooked. The principles highlighted in this book give invaluable guidance for parents wishing to assist their children in developing values and coping skills that will take them through the challenges of life.

As a therapist, I am happy to recommend this book to my clients who are parents. The best legacy we can leave to our children is a world that is gentler and more compassionate. The only route is through individual accountability - this book is an instrument to that end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderous and Inspiring --I'm Impressed!, April 5, 2000
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
This book caught me by surprise, with the warmth that infuses its writing, the penetrating insightfulness of its principles, and the ability to integrate its ideas into the everydayness of life. It elevated my focus from the intensity of life's details to touch base with matters of the heart. I began to reflect with renewed clarity on the sense of family and values that I impart daily to my children ages 5 and 7. While other books out there have tried to copy this message, this book clearly has become the classic in its field. What a tremendous service to us moms!

5.0 out of 5 stars simply wonderful, September 7, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
Unlike many other 'parenting books' (full of psychological recipies which make you feel bad if you don't follow their particular recommendations, each one of course holding the absolute and only truth), this one is simply wonderful, refreshing, full of practical tips and freely inspiring. I was a bit skeptical when I read in a previous review that it could also be a spiritual book even without being a parent, but yes, it is definitely full of ideas to develop spirituality into one's life, being or not a parent. I'm sixth month pregnant, finishing the book, and now I feel completely reassured about the parenting adventure which awaits me. Thank you!

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent guide for parents of all faiths., June 20, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
I loved this book. It is such a positive, upbeat way to be a parent. The ideas and examples are very "doable" for me and I'm a busy mom. These authors have done a great job. I highly recommend this book. The conversations starters worked with my nine year old son. Just bought the book last week and I've already purchased three more copies for my friends. Very excellent!

As an expert on creativity, I am very excited about this book as it easily guides parents into nurturing parenting by teaching them to honor the individuality of each child and encourage unique self-expression. By fortifying a child's self-esteem and acknowledging their natural gifts and abilities, parents can have a powerful impact on this next generation of "litle souls" ensuring that they become who they are truly meant to be.

5.0 out of 5 stars 10 Principals for Spiritual Parenting is Priceless!, April 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
Mimi Doe and Marsha Walch's book 10 Principals for Spiritual Parenting is Priceless. Last night my children and I read the adult affirmations and the child's affirmations. We were moved and I personally felt a shift inside to a better place. My six year old who reads very well read some parts of the book to me. I could tell she liked and absorbed what she read. This book is an excellent tool for parents and children.

By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Principles for Spiritual Parenting: Nurturing Your Child's Soul (Paperback)
As a single mother, it's wonderful to find a resource that can help one develop special moments and "rituals" with your children, even if you're the only parent doing them. It's easy to read and the ideas are terrific. I love this book. Mimi Doe has written an easy to read, thoughtful, helpful book.

I read about this in Ladies Home Journal. I tried some of the ideas in that article and they worked. So I bought the book. I really liked the quotes from kids. I actually cried at a few. There is a lot of ideas here and this summer is the perfect time to try some out.

Finally a book that doesn't just talk about religion but gets to the heart of what I want to do as a parent. I received this as a baby gift and hope to raise my daughter with these ideas. Easy to follow and nicely organized. Thanks
