This is a high quality wooden Craft tape dispenser with multicolored tape.
Got it for my Son for his birthday; he loves it.
Comes with solid wood pieces and a ton of multicolored tape.
For $45 and free shipping, I was skeptical at first, since you see similar dispensers go for $75 to $100 + expensive shipping, but when it arrived, I was thoroughly impressed with it's quality of construction.
I give this item and the company selling it my highest endorsement.

First off, I'm not sure why Amazon is having me rate this as a toy. If you're going to buy this as a toy, it's not going to be much fun or be very educational.

I'm using this as tape dispenser to make colored labels in the lab. It does a very good job at doing that.

I knocked off two stars for the following reasons:

All the non-tape, non-screw parts of this item are wood except for the serrated blade that cuts the tape. The serrated blade is plastic and very flimsy. Since the product is shipped rather haphazardly (no bubble wrap or other padding), the item gets bounced around in a box that's too big and things break.

- one star off - The first item I received had a blade that had broken off (about 20%). Instead of getting only that portion replaced, I had to ship the entire thing back (tape and all) and get a complete replacement. Customer service was not an issue, but they were blaming the issue on UPS (damage during delivery) when the real problem was how the item was packaged. Second item arrived with a cracked but intact serrated blade (which I'm ok with). They need to either bubble wrap the item or ship the blade separately and require some assembly.

- one star off - This item really functions like a giant toilet paper roll with a serrated edge to cut the tape. Although it looks like a very sturdy item, the ends that hold the tape roll are a little loose. On occasion, the roll will slip out and needs to be put back into the ends.

All in all, it works, but it is by no means a perfect item.

My 4 year old is addicted to tape and glue. When I found this item, I realized it was the PERFECT birthday present for him. He uses it almost daily and makes light sabers and "inventions" with it. It has sparked his creativity and he'll sit for hours making things. Love, love, love it!
