Great instrumental CD,

Jels 2nd cd 10 seconds is just as good as his first Greenball. Great headphone music, or work music. If you are a fan of instrumental hip hop and like cds like the Metal Fingers Presents series, Sixtoo's instrumental records, RJD2, Blockhead, Mcenroe Billy's Vision, Chronic 2001 instrumentals, Boards of Canada, Manitoba, Boom Bip, Jay Dee, Amon Tobin, Shades of blue, etc. you would appreciate this release. Jel is responsible for the beats on "Them" and "Themselves- The No Music", too. Many of the beats on "Them" are on Greenball, and 10 Seconds doesnt depart stylistically too much from his first release. This is a really good cd.

good 1st record!!!,

Jel has the kind of beats that would make any shadow fan happy (I mean endtroducing era, not the commercial tin sounding private press) Great samples, mixing, not much (if at all) scratching.awsome bigbeats. The only problem I had is that each song doesn't really go anywhere. But for people intro endtroducing, I would recommend giving it a go.

One word: "meh",
By JThib "peace and ultimate" (Madison, WI) - See all my reviews

Like most of us, I got hooked on Jel when my buddy let me borrow his copy of Greenball. In a desperate, year-long search to locate my own copy I eventually decided to try out some of Jel's other offerings and came upon 10 Seconds. The format is similar, but the tracks on 10 Seconds struggle to capture the essence of what made Greenball so successful, and fail to recreate the intensely mellow beats that make Greenball such a good driving disc. If you're a huge fan of Jel or spin your own music this CD will likely yield some good things for you. Casual fans stay away.
