Songs that weren't on the soundtrack,
By Star (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 10 Things I Hate About You: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
Okay, I dunno about the rest of you, but I was kind of disappointed in the soundtrack. It didn't have many of the songs that were in the movie. So I went on Napster and searched around to find some of the other songs. Hope this helps you people. The song playing in Club Skunk is "Come On" by Letters To Cleo (only available on Napster and maybe on their website) Kat's table dance song is "Hypnotize" by Notorious BIG. The song playing near the beginning that goes "Sunshine on my window, makes me happy, like I should be..." is "Calypso" by Spiderbait. The song that goes "I don't give a **** bout my reputation" is "Bad Reputation" by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. The song playing when Cameron and Michael are watching the flyers for the party fall down the stairs is "Sexy Boy" by Air French Band. Hope that helped!

This awesome soundtrack is worth buying!,

From the moment the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" began, I knew that I would love the music. By the end of the film, I was convinced that the soundtrack was worth purchasing. My favorite songs on the album are: "FNT" (Semisonic), "I Know" (Save Ferris), "Cruel to be Kind" (Letters to Cleo), "I Want You to Want Me" (Letters to Cleo), and "Even Angels Fall" (Jessica Riddle). The variety of music is fantastic! This soundtrack really helped me to open my ears to different types of music and different groups that I normally wouldn't have listened to. If you've seen the movie, you probably realize that there are a few songs that aren't included on the soundtrack. For example, the very first song that is playing at Club Skunk is not on the c.d. If anyone knows what song that is, please let me know. Thanks! I really like that song! Two other great songs from the movie that are not on the soundtrack are: "Calypso" by Spiderbait and "Sexy Boy" by Air. But even though the album fails to include all of the great songs from the movie, I still think it's worth buying. So buy it! It's great!

This review is from: 10 Things I Hate About You: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
The song, in case you were wondering, as I was, that plays as Kat is reading "The Bell Jar" is called "Calypso" and is by Spiderbait. For a review, I have one posted below. Enjoy ;-)

If you've seen the (fantastic) movie, then you know that you've got to have this album, if only for the Letters to Cleo cover of "I want you to want me." What's surprising is how consistently good the other tracks on the album are. Joan Armatrading's "The Weakness in Me" is heart-stopping, Sister Hazel proves that they have more than one good song in them, Save Ferris rocks the house, and the infallible Semisonic provide a B-side that sounds like an A-side. The Cardigans show they're more than "Lovefools," and even the incendental music from the movie is worth a couple of listens. The only misstep is putting Brick's "Dazz" and Ta-Gana's "Saturday Night" on the album at all, but especially so close to "Atomic Dog." The groovification of George Clinton makes the other two sound like the vacuous disco poseurs they are. 12 good tracks out of 14 -- great movie, great soundtrack.

10 Things I Hate About You SOundtrack,

This review is from: 10 Things I Hate About You: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
If you love the movie, then you'll love the soundtrack. This soundtrack includes the popular songs by Letters To Cleo "I Want You To Want Me" (the last song in the movie) and "Cruel To Be Kind" (Patrick and Kat's Song). It also includes a great dance song by Save Ferris (the band that plays during the prom) and a song called FNT from Semisonic's 1996 release (the song playing during the paintball scene). The only bad thing is that they didn't include some of the really important songs on here like Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" (the song in the opening) or the KC and JoJo remix that Andrew Keegan always plays in his car or Spiderbait's Calypso. Instead you have very obscure songs like George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" and Ta-Gana's "Saturday Night". Songs that, unless you pay attention to every little detail, you probably would have never noticed was in the movie. All in all, however, the soundtrack's wide variety of songs that range from Pop to Rock to R&B makes this a must have album.

An excellent CD from an excellent movie! I knew I had to have the CD about the third scene of the movie. I really hope they put out a second one, however, because it's missing a couple of my favorites like: Hypnotize (the table dancing scene), and the one Cat plays in her car at the beginning (I don't give a damn about my reputation...) and of course the one when she reads the Bell Jar (Sunshine on my window makes me happy....). It took me weeks to finally find a copy of this one, but wow, was it worth the wait and the cash!

14 Things I Love About this CD!,
By A Customer
This review is from: 10 Things I Hate About You: Music From The Motion Picture (Audio CD)
This CD is one of the greatest varieties of music every smashed together on one of the greatest soundtracks (from one of the greatest movies) ever made! If you've seen the movie, 10 Things I Hate About You, I'm sure you noticed the awesome songs they played! My one complaint is that there are a few songs that were less obvious in the movie and I think they could've replaced them w/a better choice. Oh well, the important part is that the songs that you really heard and loved are on it! 1. "I Want You to Want Me" Letters to Cleo-- I love this song and the band is awesome! Every teen girl can relate to this song but instead of being a slow sad song, Letters to Cleo depicts our feelings in an upbeat tune! 2. "FNT" Semisonic-- Okay, for those of you who don't know (I didn't) this is the song that plays when Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger are playing paintball that goes "I'm surprised that you've never been told before, that you're lovely and you're perfect..." This is such an awesome song and when it plays in the movie it gives you that warm perfect feeling! 3. "I Know" Save Ferris-- Great song to dance to! Its super-upbeat and REALLY gets stuck in your head! 4. "Your Winter" Sister Hazel-- If you've seen the movie you probably don't remember this song from the movie (it's when Larissa Oleynik is on the tire swing) but it doesn't matter. Once you hear it you'll fall in love. It is the sweetest song and the lyrics rock ("I won't be your winter, I won't be anyone's excuse to cry...") 5. "Even Angels Fall" Jessica Riddle-- Okay, I know this must be getting annoying AND repetitive but... here's ANOTHER awesome song. I absolutely love it! It's really catchy and you'll find yourself singing it all the time! 6. "New World" Leroy-- This is a pretty cool song and would be great for dancing to at a party or something! 7. "Saturday Night" Ta-Gana-- Here is another dancy upbeat song... definitely for a party. It sounds a little like a disco song but its really cool. Even if you don't like it when you first listen to it... listen again! Its not an immediate favorite but you'll like it when you listen again. 8. "Atomic Song" George Clinton-- Aaaaahhh! I'm sorry but this is the WORST song... I wish they hadn't put it on the CD... I find it unbearable. But don't worry, this is the only bad song! 13 out of 14 isn't bad! 9. "Dazz" Brick-- This song isn't the best but it grows on you. It has a little disco thing and jazz bit that is really cool. 10. "The Weakness in Me" Joan Armatrading-- This is the cutest song and is another you can relate to! You'll definitely be singing along to this song right away! 11. "War" The Cardigans-- If you're already familiar w/the Cardigans you know they make great music. Another great addition to a great CD! 12. "Wings of a Dove" Madness-- Umm... this is definitely a "grow on you" song but trust me... it definitely grows on you. Once it does, you'll love it. This is one of those songs that makes this CD so diverse in its style of music. 13. "Cruel to Be Kind" Letters to Cleo-- Another great song from Letters to Cleo. This song is really catchy and is great to dance to! 14. "One More Thing" Music Composed and Produced by Richard Gibbs-- This is just the musical score but its really pretty and you'll probably really enjoy it. The question in purchasing this CD is "Why not?" It is such a great mix of great music... you won't regret buying it! P.S. Does anyone happen to know who sings the song from the movie that goes "Sunshine on my window, makes me happy, like I should be, outside all around me..."?

Since everyone (including myself) has been wondering what song is the song sung to Kat at the soccer practice on the bleachers, I have figured it out. It's "Can't Take My Eyes Off of You" by The Four Seasons. It really should be on the soundtrack, but maybe there were legality issues because of the band's age?
