5.0 out of 5 stars Compact, Actionable, and Insightful June 5, 2012

If you're looking for concrete advice about how to become a better self-directed learner--and you don't want to read some 300-page tome in the process--then Jeff's book is a solid choice. He cites the most relevant psychology research (intrinsic motivation, deliberate practice) and practical tools for interest-led learning in a compact, quick read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to read and understand, but powerful January 31, 2013

I bought the Kindle version, downloaded it, and read through the whole thing in one sitting! Great and useful info in a very easy-to-read format. I need to go back and review the homework Jeff suggested in several of the chapters and put them to work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Adult Learning Tool October 27, 2012
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
"10 Ways To Be a Better Learner" is a great little book for adult learning. It reminds us of a few key pointers we may have forgotten from our college and university days. It puts us in the right frame of mind to absorb the volumes of information that out lecturers insist on hurling at us :) Just kidding! I love learning new things don't you?

It's true that we all have to learn how to learn and this book will show you how to learn more efficiently.

I highly recommend this book to anyone young or old who are studying to better themselves.

3.0 out of 5 stars quick and useful October 14, 2012

This book gives specific ideas that are backed by research. Some of the topics were things that I knew, but had forgotten. The ideas are not cumbersome and neither is the book. I especially like that he put main ideas/ important thoughts on a separate page, but still included them in the text for better understanding.
