at last a cd by Franck Pourcel, the creator of the lounge music in the fifties.

Do you remember the orchestral version of Only You, do you remember the Lex Baxter's La femme, and French Sax, .... Franck was the first european conductor to be famous in the US, he brought a new style to this kind of music and his talent remains over the years

I love Franck Pourcel's music.It is the best relaxation I can find.

I have bought 10 of these Cds for my friends, and they all love it.

It's a great gift

Although I have listened to Franck Pourcel's work via Music Choice for several years, I was not prepared for the freshness and tonal quality of his arrangements. I wish that I had not waited to purchese these CDs. What a delight!

This collection with the best of Franck Pourcel it's a refined selection of the good music played by an orchestra. It's a pleasure to listen in the car or in the home. It's a good gift to give to a friend, to your father, etc. The sound is clear and there's no noise in this record. You can buy without any fear.

Esta re-edición de 4 cds con 100 temas bajo arreglos y conducción del "Maestro" Franck Pourcel es una deuda que el mundo de la música tenía con él.

Franck Pourcel creó un estilo de música instrumental u orquestada, que no podrá ser reemplazada. Los únicos sonidos de cuerdas, el estilo "jazz" en muchas de sus obras, la inclusión de percusión y la originalidad de los arreglos, dió a Franck Pourcel y su Orquesta un lugar destacado en la música.

En esta edición podemos escuchar sólo 100 de los miles de temas que él interpretó.

La calidad de sonido de estos 4 cds es excelente a pesar de haber temas grabados hace muchos años.

Si Ud. creció junto con la música interpretada por Franck, debe tener esta colección. Sino, también debe tenerla para valorar a un gran músico, arreglador y compositor que logró sonidos únicos con orquestas reales, y sin el uso de secuenciadores o computadoras.

Felicito a EMI Music France y a EMI-Odeón Argentina por entregarnos esta colección y espero que no sea la última.

A very impressive Pourcel collection, almost three hundred minutes worth of instrumental easy listening evergreens (and light classical) played with a continental feel. Pourcel along Raymond Lefevre and Paul Mauriat were surely the finest French easy orchestras of the last few decades and despite them all passing away their music is still in demand.

The four CDs in this collection are divided into themes: 1 Golds of the 20th century; 2 From Cannes to Hollywood; 3 French fiddlers' super lounge; 4 Classics for ever. No doubt you'll have your favorites from these four, for me the best is disc three because it's pure easy, wonderful arrangements of beautiful melodies. Disc two with film music obviously includes some strident sounding tracks. Classics are not my kind of easy but if it's yours you'll enjoy the twenty-six tracks on disc four.

Why some of this type of music should be priced a bit higher than I would have expected seems odd as it is all re-issued material. Still, I've enjoyed these Pourcel collections: Originals, Vol. 1; Originals vol 2/3/4 and L' Inimitable. I've found it's worth searching the net for best prices

Nothing to do with the music though it is part of the package but the twelve page booklet with the box is just about useless. The Pourcel life story on two pages is in type so small and in red as to be unreadable, likewise the hundred track listing and credits are over two pages in capital letters. You'll not be able to read any of this in a domestic lighting environment. Amateurish in the extreme!

Great Sound! The lush, seductive sound of Frank Pourcel will put you in a romantic mood. This 4 CD set includes great songs with arrangements that do not hide their melodies. Listening to these Frank Pourcel recordings will make you feel great all over!

This CD set has a large variety of music but the tunes lack the magnificent melodic flow that characterizes the similar theme groupings of the Paul Mauriat music.

I recieved on time and in good condition except that there were tape that holds the little snaps-on that the CD goes onto.
