I personally don't like to see cookbooks with odd ingredients that not everyone will have easy access to.

OMG I love this book - Since I gave birth to twins last year I have been trying to take off the last 10 pounds (who isn't?) and find it so hard as I love to snack and I have a sweet tooth. I just got my copy of Sally's 100 Calorie Snack Cookbook and am enjoying snacks and MEALS and don't feel guilty! and I might add that my husband is loving my cooking all over again and he doesn't even notice the "low cal" cooking. Of course he's already lost 2 pounds! The Cilantro Gazpacho is a great lunch for our warming weather and who can resist the spiced popcorn with a movie? And ah....who can resist the chocolate truffles? Get this book and test it out for yourself. You won't be sorry and you'll eat like a king and look like a queen!

Sally Sampson's 100-Calorie Snack Book is a completely original and inspired
delight for the eyes and the tummy. The antidote to the l00 calorie oreo cookie craze, the book is a great, delicious and chic collection of wonderful snacks and appetizers -- perfect for entertaining or just indulging one self. I will be thinking of Sally this summer when I serve strawberry sandwiches, watermelon and feta salad and my favorite beet chips (I LOVE BEETS) on the deck. I happened upon this cool book and love it.

I just received my book a few days ago, and I am pleasantly pleased at the recipes. Granted there area few recipes that are not to my liking or may appear "fancy", (But I can't think of any recipe book where I like all the entries) but in general this book has many recipes that I am very interested in trying, and soon. I was afraid there were going to be to many weird or unusual recipes.

Do these sound to unusual and weird?
Minestrone
Egg Sandwich
Spiced Popcorn
Hot and spicy nuts
Pasta Chips
Cajun Chex Mix
Peanut butter & "Jelly"
Popcorn with Basil and Parmesan
Honey Peanut Butter bites
Cheese Tortilla
Parmesan Flats
Pita with Yogurt and cukes
Apple Chips
Chocolate Match Sticks
Mini Cranberry muffins
Ice burg Quarters w/ BleuCheese
Shrimp with spiced salt
Canadian Bacon w/ Brn sugar and mustard
Smoked Ham Pita
Grilled Pineapple
Peaches and "cream"
Berry Fro-Yo
Rice crispy treats
Chocolate cereal bites
PB&J Rice treats
Chocolate Truffles
And more....

To think I almost didn't buy this book because of the negative reviews! As long as your not expecting small portions of flat out junk food, or kiddy type food, you should enjoy this book fine.

Never written a book review, but love the recipes...innovative, great flavors, and easy to prepare! Who can turn down beet chips, turkey sliders, GORP? Great value...hundreds of great snacks for $13, fun for kids to make with parents, great to prepare and keep in the house for healthy snacking....? No excuses NOT to clean out your pantry and get rid of the junk. Healthy snacking is EASY!

Granted, weight loss is hard. It's even harder when you stay hungry all the time. Well, this book can help cure that, if you are willing to put in the effort. Sure, it's easier to just grab a candy bar or whatever, but that won't help with the process. Inside are very delicious recipes that, thanfully, don't require a lot of ingrediants or effort or time. A good, solid read about snacking. I suggest it along with Hungry Girl: 200 Under 200: 200 Recipes Under 200 Calories.

I am so happy to have found this fabulous book. Trying to come up with creative, yet lower-calorie snacks has been so tough. But this book has been such a great find. I have had so much fun cooking my way through it. I was able to sail through the holidays with lots of fun, super-flavorful snacks to eat. I would recommend this to anyone; not just dieters. These snacks are delicious, healthy and much better than the junky snacks most of us eat. Sampson's recipes are clear and easy to follow; I can find all her ingredients at my grocery store, and everything tastes SO good! I love this book!
