Book Description

January 2003
Following the success of the series previously launched with 100 Planes 100 Years, 100 Cars 100 Years presents the history of the automobile with eye-catching images and absorbing stories that set it apart from other merely factual car books. Compelling photographs of 100 years of history-making vehicles show the evolution of the automobile from its dawn to the present day. All cars included are currently in running condition-from gleaming brass-trimmed antiques to lovingly restored Jazz Age classics and from wild custom cars to the latest competition machines. Unique graphic spreads take the reader through time and travel by highlighting a single legendary car for each year in the past century, accompanied by engaging anecdotes about its original design, its intrepid owners, and its final fate. Highly readable and visually exciting, this book is an excellent resource for car fans and transportation buffs alike.
