4.0 out of 5 stars Cute, funky, well-designed
This is a handy little drink guide, both to carry around so you know what to order, and for fixing the drinks yourself. I really like the fact that the drinks are all illustrated. It's also nice that the cocktails are presented in their "classic" form, rather than the '90s versions, which tend to clutter up the recipes with extras.

1.0 out of 5 stars stupid, unimaginative, and impossible.
First off, this book had no variety in the different cocktails that appeared in the book. Secondly, all the cocktails looked and tasted exactly the same, with only slight hints of paprika and saffron. Lastly, the recipes were made by an expert and thats all that can make these recipes, seasoned experts. In my opinion, the worst cocktail book out on the market today.

Let's face it, there's only so much you want to know about cocktails. This books pretty much gives you all you would want to know, and with nifty pictures, too. My drinks don't always come out so "classy" looking, but no one has complained yet.

What a handy little book! The perfect reference when mixing drinks, and inspiration when planning what to serve at a party. The pictures add a lot and are really chic--all for a great price!

5.0 out of 5 stars A smashing little book!, July 5, 2005
This review is from: 100 Classic Cocktails (Tiny Folio) (Hardcover)
I bought this because I was hosting a themed 1930's party, if your doing that kind of thing then you have to pay homage to the jazz age, the golden years of Hollywood etc and what better way than with cocktails. There is just about every cocktail you could hope to find here. I learned a lot about making them and the names of some I had never heard of! The perfect design, small and inobtrusive but large enough to read and with a sensible, "wipe clean", hard cover. By the way cocktails are back thanks to shows like "Sex and the City" with endless Cosmopolitans, Manhattans, Martini's etc. Also the Champagne cocktail, just incase you didn't know, is not only delicious but also the new black!
