Too difficult for young children,

I got this book as a birthday present for our 7 year old granddaughter. It is NOT appropriate for children 4-8 as advertised. What child that age would know a Musical from 1975, Newsman Brokaw, Dwight's wife, a Keats poem, a Cambridge school, Dutch city with "the"... ? You get the picture. And those are all clues from just one of the first puzzles. Although the words are not long, I would think getting the answers to many of the clues in these puzzles would be challenging for 14 -18 year olds.
