4.0 out of 5 stars Good Mix BUT...
I enjoyed the selection of these many hits. You will recognize all the melodies and know most of the words. The production of these songs sounds still in their analog (not digital) and gives a verying quality from one song to another. Steve G

1.0 out of 5 stars STAY AWAY, NOT THE ORIGINALS
Stay away from this freak show, a lot of these are not the ORIGINALS, the artists and titles are the same, but the songs are a "horror". I have all the original records on this CD, and I'll give you 2 examples, "Heartaches By The Number" by Guy Mitchell, and "Go Jimmy Go" by Jimmy Clanton, I don't know where they dug up these versions, but...

For anyone who loves the original analog recordings of these songs (and why would you order the set if you don't) shall be grossly disappointed. Don't be misled by what appears to be a wonderful selection. Whomever transferred the songs to CD may never have heard the original recordings. Several people who listened to these CDs with me could not be convinced thath the songs were actually copies of the originals--the "cleaned-up" sound is that bad. This is truly a must to avoid.

The truth is that THESE ARE NEITHER THE ORIGINAL RECORDINGS NOR THE ORIGINAL ARTISTS. I am sending it back, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BLATANT RIP-OFF. I gave it one star because zero ( or minus one)were not options....

I noticed the hammered reviews of this product.
I am having a blast hearing the "redo's" of these great, great songs.
The only time I resent it is when they don't warn you in advance.
Course most of us old timers have all the originals anyway..
I am really enjoying it !

If you don't have all the originals by now...
forgetabouit !
You have missed the best music era of all time !

This is yet another Madacy collection of '50s and '60s oldies trying to imitate the overwhelming success of Time-Life's box sets. The only difference here is that almost none of the songs are the original recordings; almost everything are crappy re-recordings done some 20 or even 30 years later when the artist's voice wasn't in the best shape. My advise to you is to STAY AWAY from collections like these!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars music, August 26, 2011

I bought this 50's & 60's CD set as a gift for my brother for his bithday. He loved it, I remember him saying one day that he wished he would have ordered it years ago when he saw it advertised but didn't want to spend that much money on music. I know he was freally surprised & happy. And so was I. I was very happy with the quality & the condition of the set.

5.0 out of 5 stars A complete history of 50's and 60's music., January 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: 100 Jukebox Hits: 50's & 60's (Audio CD)
This collection has got it all! From the Doo Wop sounds of the Clovers and Drifters, all the way to rock and roll with Lou Christie and Lesley Gore. The great thing about this gigantic collection is that most of the songs are excellent, new stereo recordings. Even Crying In The Chapel, done way back in the late 40's sounds crystal clear, like the Orioles just recorded it the other day. You get tons of songs, including Walking In The Sand, Runaway, She Cried, Kind Of A Drag, Telestar, Along Comes Mary, Worst That Could Happen, Blue Moon, Rubber Ball, Stand By Me, This Diamond Ring, and HUNDREDS more!!!! It's the greatest collection, and doesn't hurt your wallet. Groovy!!!!!!
