5.0 out of 5 stars 100 Knitting Projects
This was a great find. There are a variety of patterns and all look great. Makes you want to start with the first one and make them all.

3.0 out of 5 stars An okay book, but not the best
The first thing I noticed about this book is that some of the patterns are ones given out inside yarn labels. My favorite pattern, a sweater set for a baby, is free on at least 2 different yarn labels. That being said, there are some cute patterns, but some are pretty simple & are DEFINITELY geared for the novice knitter. There are some errors, which is always...

There are some errors, which is always frustrating.

The thing I dislike most about the book is that it gives the weight of the yarn used instead of the yardage, which makes substituting yarns more difficult. Obviously, many of the patterns were contributed by yarn companies, but I don't like using acrylic yarns.

I bought my copy used, so it wasn't expensive, but I think I'd look elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars My oponion is thumbs down., July 9, 2009

I didn't find one thing in this book that I would even want to put my time knitting. This purchase was a random thing and my fault, I just took a chance that disapointed me. The seller gave a fast delivery and book in good condition.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mediocre at best, June 24, 2009
This review is from: 100 Knitting Projects (Hardcover)
The patterns in the book are very limited in creativity. Many seem to be basically the same pattern with minor changes. Very difficult to substitute yarns. Also, pattern sizes RARELY go beyond 38-40 inch bust (in the women's patterns). Directions are very difficult to follow as well. They'll say to change to smaller needles, then you'll be working through the pattern, line by line, and they'll say to switch back to the smaller needles again...was I supposed to have switched to the larger at some point? I've searched and searched and have been unable to find an eratta anywhere. I won't send back, mostly just to avoid the hassle of the post office, but I would strongly urge you not to buy. So many other books that offer so very much more for comparable price!

3.0 out of 5 stars ERRATA, November 23, 2010

Most authors/publishers are more than willing to publish corrections for the inevitable mistakes that occur in written and/or charted directions for knitting. I looked for an errata page for this book, and for another of these authors' books, or for a way to contact them to point out an error. No luck. So, here's the first one I've found in this book:

P. 205 Round 13:
The directions read *K2 tog, K1, SSK

and should be *SSK, K1, K2 tog

in order for the design to appear as in the picture.

In addition, I chose to change the double decrease in Round 15 to S2KP, or slip 2 together at the same time knitwise, knit 1, pass the 2 slipped stitches at the same time over the knit stitch. It's a better transition into the following section.

I really liked so many of the patterns in this book much to my surprise! Really!! It even has 2 great Glove Patterns and a Great Mittens patterns, and a Celtic type cabled Sweater which I definitely making first. I think there could be more pictures and schematics though.
Though I am still very pleased overall with the patterns in this book.
Especially, 100 for this price? one has to expect some flaws, I guess!!
