4.0 out of 5 stars Nice October 31, 2002
By b c
Format:Audio CD
Ok 1st off. Great song selection, yeah it could have used a few older ones but nothing for nothing still a strong set list.
2nd the sound quality is good if not very good. It's not over produced to make it sound perfect it sounds like a live CD. Almost like you yourself was at the show.
My only complaints: If this is one show, why not just tape the show and put it to CD. Like most live recordings the song plays, ends, the crowd screams then into the next tune maybe with alittle interaction with the crowd. This CD for some reason breaks each tune up. Each song just starts no fade up with crowd screams but the tunes do fade out with cheers. Some may think this is "nit-picking" but I want to hear a show not the "best cuts" from different show, if you do that type of CD make it sound like a full show or at least fade each tune up and out with the cheers... oh well what can you do
But if you like Prong or good heavy music to bang your head to this is very much worth it. This CD most likely will not get top 40 air play but will reassure you that good heavy music still is being played and exists!!! CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEW CD

5.0 out of 5 stars Tommy Victor Godfather Of Hardcore Returns! November 5, 2002
By clif
Format:Audio CD
The long awaited return of Tommy Victor is over. I had to give it 5 stars, Prong delivers a swift kick to the sack. It would've been nice if "Out Of This Misery, One Outnumbered, Test, and Caprice" were included as they were played on the tour as well. "Disbelief, and Unconditional" are awesome, they didn't play those at the show I saw. Ted Parsons, and Paul Raven are missed but the new guys are right on the money, no complaints. If you are a Prong fan or was, pick this up. The new album is supposed to be released next year, I can't wait.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential for every PRONG fan. March 1, 2003
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
I have to agree with the others this is a great CD. Anointing their return. After many years Tommy pulled together a great crew and proves Prong is at the forefront of heavy tunage. Many acredited Prong with molding their sound, but this CD shows that PRONG is on top form and a leader. I caught the live show at HARPOS and they slammed harder than I had seen in any other show. Let this be a paving stone to things to come. And what a treat I like the live rawness of this, it's live, hardcore and heavy. Knocks you package.

...I hate to do it, Tommy's made some great music over the years and I was looking forward to this cd arriving.

The last time I saw Prong was at the Eagles Club in Milwaukee. They were dusting Clutch off their boots from the opening slot, just as Clutch were really hitting their stride in early '99. Tommy was just pissed about something (probably having to open or inter-band touring politics)and was busy taking it out by rocking madly, AND HERE'S THE POINT> the set was being anchored by the late Paul Raven on bass and a drummer who ,if it wasn't Ted Parsons, was doing an excellent imitation. Some of the best support available.period., and this band just doesn't hold up.

Rock n roll is a game of pecision and feel, and though these guys really do an adequate job; they just don't put it in the pocket the way I've seen Prong do in the past. This is the danger of having had people of the level of Parsons and Raven slinging notes and beats on past endeavors, it makes even really good musicians fall short- and I couldn't hold a candle to any of these guys supporting Tommy on this record, so no disrespect intended to them.

The exceptions, happily, are 'Another Worldly Device' and 'Unconditional', which do rock mightily. Also the set of songs is really a good selection of material.

I still look forward to hearing the most recent studio effort, which is in the mail to me now. Welcome back to the rock, Tommy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Live at last, thank gawd almighty Prong's live at last October 31, 2002

I've attended many Prong concerts and can say the Royal Oak show was one of the best. There was a maturity and joy to the perfomance which I have never seen. That performance is part of this album. Buy this album and enjoy...
