It Keeps You Runnin', October 23, 2002
This review is from: 100 Miles & Running (Audio CD)
After the success of their second album, Straight Outta Compton, which was a surprise hit that peaked at number 38 on the album charts thanks solely to word of mouth (the album received no radio play or MTV airplay), N.W.A. faced a major problem. The group's chief lyrist and best MC, Ice Cube, left the band due to personal and money squabbles to start a solo career. The group, faced with a major problem, trudged on. Their first effort is this solid four song EP, 100 Miles & Runnin'. The album is just a primer, as the band tests the waters without Ice Cube, it's not without merit. While a song like "Just Don't Bite It" has some funny moments, it was really the tremendous title track that showed the band could survive the loss of Ice Cube. The track has a propulsive beat that forces the song the along and the lyrics perfectly fit the band's renegade lifestyle.

Prove they CAN go without Ice Cube, September 7, 2004
This review is from: 100 Miles & Running (Audio CD)
This was their first release after Ice Cube left the group, due to problems over money between cube and the n.w.a manager. But N.W.A proved lyrically they could do without Ice Cube. The beats obviously stay tight, but the lyrics here are more funny in some songs, such as Sa Prize (Part 2), which is part 2 of n.w.a's classic F___ Tha Police, and it features some HILARIOUS skits between verses. Just Don't Bite It, is also hilarious, with the name explaining. 100 Miles & Runnin' has a dope beat and is faster song than the others, and they prove they can step up a notch on the mic. Real N*ggaz is another tight song great lyrics, and funky chorus. Kamurshol is a song that promotes their upcoming album Efil4zaggin, which was the purpose of this EP. Bottom line is, you wont be able to find it nowadays, its long out of print, but u can find it on the remastered version of Efil4zaggin, so if u havent already go that album, then get it for this, or if you are a collector, it is worth the search on ebay or whatever for this.

100 Miles And Runnin, January 27, 2002
This review is from: 100 Miles & Running (Audio CD)
NWA's first effort without Ice Cube set out to prove that the group was going to survive without its best rapper. While successful at this task, the group really comes with nothing new on this 4 song EP. Besides the title track, the only standout is Sa Prize Part 2 which is actually a sequel to F*** The Police. Unless you find this one very cheap, there really isn't enough material to make it worth purchasing.
