1.0 out of 5 stars False Advertising! October 25, 2014
By A. Wolf
Format:Kindle Edition
These recipes DO NOT COME IN JARS! They are shipped in a bunch of glued-together pages instead. I had to use scissors to separate each recipe before I could place it in a jar. Oh, and the product doesn't even supply the jars, so it cost me around $60 for the cheapest variety I could find (each recipe will fit in a very small jar if you crumple it, fortunately). Don't waste your time on this.

4.0 out of 5 stars Holiday gifts in a jar December 5, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book has 100 recipes, using common ingredients, that you can assemble and put in decorative jars for holiday gifts. It includes recipes for cakes, cookies, sauces, soups, salad dressings, dips, rubs, and snacks.

I've been looking for some gift ideas to do with my girls, and this book is perfect. It gives you easy instructions and you can print out and attach the recipe. Also it gives tips for festive jar decorations. There is a country bean soup that sounds delicious, kind of like a seven bean soup. That's one I'm going to make, because it looks attractive and sounds yummy. It's a fun, but practical gift.

Would recommend for those that want to put more thought into their gifts, while saving money.

Thanks for taking the time to read this review. I hope it helps you make a purchasing decision.

3.0 out of 5 stars Liked it and will try some of these October 16, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
All in all there were some excellent idea in this ebook. There could have been more pictures - perhaps showing the before -ingredients in the jar - and after - what the finished product after the "gift" was fixed - that would have really added.

Will I read it again - pretty sure I will to try some of these out.
Will I recommend it - yes.
Will I get more from this author - most likely.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful ideas and tasty treats! August 18, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I tend to find myself in a scramble to come up with a gift when needed. Not only does this book give you simple and tasty ideas but it also brings out the creativity in me.

Everything is offered in this book, including cute packaging ideas and printable labels for those who may not have time or talent to make their own.

The instructions are simple, and the author took great pains to include photos of her process.

I highly recommend this book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!! October 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I absolutely love these Jars books. I purchased Book 1 last year, now have Book 2 for this Christmas season. This is an outstanding book that has wonderful sample photos of jar and new selection of recipes, including many seasoning mixes. I love the tips on decorating jars and the free online recipe labels and jar labels. It makes my gift look so professional.

Some of my favorite recipes include:

Baked Oatmeal
Fajata Seasoning
Tuscan Bread Dipping Mix
Ranch-Style Seasoning
Spiced Pumpkin Seeds
Almond Tea Bread
Ginger Spice Muffins
Chocolate Reindeer Droppings
All-Purpose Salt Substitute

This is a great book and you get so much for such a small investment. I plan to give many of these as gifts this Christmas.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not much that's new or different January 3, 2014

It's ok, but I was hoping for something other than sweets. There were lots of cookies, etc. , but few soup and other savory recipes.

5.0 out of 5 stars a great buy January 27, 2014
By Robun
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book is fabulous. I have another book in a similar vein, but the recipes are not really useful for everyday cooking. I also have a couple of books about cooking gifts. However, I would trade all 4 or 5 of those books for this one book. This book is full of recipes which cover lots of tastes and lots of variety with both sweet and savoury options. I would highly recommend it, I use it frequently, and once I've given the gifts, have the recipients ask me where I got the "idea"..........do I tell them it's not my 'creation ' or do I show them my book...........
