5.0 out of 5 stars Best Raw Food Recipies
I have several raw food books... Pure Food and Wine, Julianno's RAW, Cafe Gratitude's book.... but this book is by FAR the easiest to make!! I have both the book and the video... haven't watched the video yet, but I can tell you that Byran's stuff is fast, easy and delicious! so creative!! Thanks, Bryan!

This review is from: 100% Raw Organic Cuisine In Ten Minutes with Bryan Au #2 DVD in the Series (DVD)
The video did not provide any useful information or tips on preparing raw food, selecting the ingredients, what to look for, or even mention any benefits or nutritional information of raw foods. The product description was misleading as it claimed to have "up to the minute information about nutrition, delicious recipes, snacks, desserts and more!" All it did was show the author hurriedly going through three recipes (which were so hurried that they didn't even include all the usual ingredients). It just seemed like the dvd was made to use as a plug to buy the book. He mentioned multiple times that you should buy the book to get the actual ingredients for the recipes. In addition, they made a poor attempt at doing a tour of the eco house where the dvd was filmed. While I'm sure it was well intentioned, it was out of place. [...]. All in all, the recipes looked delicious, but I was very disappointed and would not recommend getting the dvd.

This review is from: 100% Raw Organic Cuisine In Ten Minutes with Bryan Au #2 DVD in the Series (DVD)
On the back of this DVD are 9 photos of raw dishes. On the front are 4 dishes. I assumed these dishes would be prepared on this DVD, but they are not. Only 3 are...and they're not the same ones from the photos.

The 3 dishes Bryan Au prepared looked really tasty. However, he rushed through them so fast that I won't be able to prepare any of them. He doesn't tell you the exact measurements he using nor does he list all the ingredients needed to make the recipe. Instead, he says if you want that information, you'll need to buy his book...there's no booklet of recipes included either. He also doesn't describe any techniques he's using.

He also doesn't say anything about the benefits of a raw diet or why he chose it. He just says repeatedly that his dishes are eco-friendly in that they don't require a blender...yet 2 of his dishes require blended ingredients.

I also found him difficult to listen to. He talks with a surfer dude accent and giggles practically after each sentence. He would also sometimes start a sentence and then say, "So..." and his voice would trail off so that he wouldn't complete his thought. He ended up coming across as someone who didn't know what he was talking about.

At the end of his recipe demonstrations, he gives a tour (if you want to call it that) of an eco-house. However, just like he rushed through the recipe demonstration, he also rushes through the tour, which is a shame because the house looked beautiful. He doesn't provide any info on who the architect is, what inspired him/her to build it, or what eco materials were used.
Instead, a wobbly camera follows him from room to room with him saying one word sentences like, "Wow, this is really nice." And then he'd go to the next room. The whole tour is like this.
In some rooms he would hesitate and say, "I think this is the (fill in the blank) room." Does he not know for sure? You'd think if he was going to include a tour of a home in his video, he would've done some research first.
When the tour ends, it ends abruptly. There's no goodbye, no thank you for watching my DVD, not even, surprisingly another chance to plug his book (which he does repeatedly throughout this video). It just ends.

Overall, I didn't learn anything from this DVD. I consider it a waste of money.
