Several pieces broke during the first play session. The wood split along the grain when the children tried to disassemble the train. I should had spent the money for a name brand. I have tried to contact the company but can not find any information who the manufacture is. Do not buy.
UPDATE:
I have since been able to contact Orbrium® directly. They stand by their product and explained that some sellers occasionally purchase damaged merchandise and then resell it. They replaced the train set after I sent them pictures of the damage. The company was very helpful and I would buy their products again, just not from the same seller.

Just had this delivered for my 3yr old grandson. He enjoys it but quickly wanted to change the set layout. The lack of straight pieces limited his attempts to make a complete track. Over 2/3 of the 100 pieces are things other than track. I would suggest buying the supplemental add on set first if you already have cars or, if you can, buy both sets. We will be ordering the add on set after I write this review as the overall quality is good and the price cannot be beat.

I was nervous about ordering this for Christmas, but the quality and attention to detail is outstanding. Brand name sets like this are very expensive. My four year old grandson has now played with this set for hours on end, and he loves the flexibility it gives him to build any track he can dream up. I would certainly seek out other products by this company.

Wow 100-Piece for under $50?

Pros:
+ Price <-to-> Piece ratio, there's a lot here.

+ Universal fit, you can add this to existing train sets, including but not limited to; Tomas, Imaginarium, Chugington, Orbruim, etc...

+ Construction, its as good as any or the more expensive play-sets, without (ugly and albeit sometimes creepy) faces on the trains and stuff.

+ Amount of track <-to-> Piece ratio; I was thinking there was still a lot of track even with the total amount of pieces here, granted some play-sets are ONLY tracks, but there's quite a bit here and the ---+

+ Variety --+ Is just fantastic. Trees, people, different types of track, 2 ramps, a bridge, supports WITH SUPPORTS(they improved bridge supports(clear plastic braces)? I didn't think that was possible! Preposterous!)

+ NO Stickers! That's right, everything is painted. No stickers for the kids to peal off, and no stickers to fall off as it gets old, it will always look great just like it does, so long as you dont let your kids chop on them like a chew toy, honestly that would be a failure on the parents part for not providing an alternative --- Lets move on shall we? =P

+Pieces fit back into the box. Look, with the box this comes in, if you toss them in there, you wont fit them all in let me tell you, they CRAMMED this box FULL. But if you put them back neatly and organized like I do when my temp OCD kicks in, there's room to spare. If you are just going to throw the box away, then this isnt much of a Pro, hence the reason its last on the list.

Cons
- Wooden train set.

I had initially given this toy 5 stars but I am changing it to 3. The bridge is poorly designed and keeps falling apart with the slightest touch. This is becoming a major issue. My son loves the bridge and we have to stick it with tapes so that it doesn't fall apart. It is a pain to keep putting the tape every time we lay the track.
Pros:
1) Comes in a small easy to store box
2) There are many vehicles which also fit on the train track
3) Durable
4) Entertains my son for long periods
5) No irritating lights or sounds that come with most of today's toys

It's completely compatible with the Thomas tracks we already have, and the addition of little wooden buildings, trees and people added fresh interest to train building. When I got home, the kid told an elaborate story about how one train had run a policeman off the rails into the lake, and another train had to recuse him. Very good for stimulating creative play!

Nice kit and great that we can add to it, our 2 yr old and 5 yr old love it. We plan on building a train table for him and getting several add ons to make it larger. Quite a few peices to pick up though when they get bored.

We bought this to our 2 years old as he is crazy about cars/tractors/trains and this is his first "advanced" train set. While he is only two he enjoys the set a lot. I am pretty sure he broke his own attention span record multiple times with it.

What is so unique about this set?
1. The pieces are solid, yet fine and colorful. And it's wooden, not made of cheap plastic.
2. Variety of elements including the train engine and cars, tracks, houses, trees, people, rumps and even traffic signs. etc
3. It fits Thomas!!! So our electric Thomas can ride on a MUCH more exciting adventures than just the tracks with which it arrived!
4. While as one of the reviewers wrote it does miss straight tracks, Orbrium offers (sell separately) additional pieces so you can really make whatever you want from it.

Update:
Two things we liked less about it:
1. Our Thomas (Fisher Price's Maron Station Starter Kit) couldn't climb the up ramp. so it can't complete a full lap if the ramps are part of it. It may just be our model but still, kind of disappointing. Having said that, we didn't buy it for its Thomas compatibility...
2. The bridge is too narrow for our Thomas. Same here - couldn't blame it on this product but there is some incompatibility with some of the models I guess.
