If you live here (as I do) you willl be surprised at how careless the locals are about preserving the beauty of their land. If it weren't for the National Parks, most of these mountains would have been sold off to developers long ago. Also, the locals have no qualms about polluting the air every spring and fall when they burn brush or trashing the roadsides with litter. And as far as I have observed, very few of them drive hybrids. So, maybe some outside influences are n't such a bad thing?

Just how "perfect" will these places be once they are overrun by hoards of tourists spewing exhaust out of their car tailpipes and tossing their litter out of their windows? Of course, the author gets to make a quick buck off of selling his book to these people so what does he care?
