I was skeptical about this book at first (it was a gift), but I found it to be a real treasure. I read it in shorts gulps at night after my now-7-month old drifted off to sleep. It's a beautiful and heartwarming--and very real--emotional tribute to motherhood. I just finished reading another heartwarming--but also very funny--love letter about parenting, "I Sleep At Red Lights: A True Story of Life After Triplets," by Bruce Stockler, which you might also enjoy

All moms should read this book. It is a special classic that will never go out of style. It's perfect for mothers-to-be in what they can look forward to as a mom. It's also perfect for women that are already mothers because it is a reminder of what a gift a child is to the entire world. There are so many lessons in this book, you can feel the love on each page. Buy this book for you and your child, you'll use it forever.

I purchased this book for my wife, but really enjoyed reading it myself! This is a great book for anyone who is expecting a new baby, or just as a reminder to anyone with a young child about what a true joy parenting is.

Although I bought this book as a gift, I did glance through the various chapters to develop a feeling of the author's message.

I found the book beautifully written with a depth of feeling that could only come from the love of a mother for her child. There was a spiritual dimension moving through the pages of the book which enhanced the message and the feeling of closeness, yet the words were those of common sense and practical nature.

These thoughts, so well spoken by Mallika Chopra, are the thoughts that all mothers wish for their children. Mallika Chopra shows the talent and the gift of her father.

This book really sheds some light on what it means to be a GREAT parent and what it takes to be a great parent. There are lots of wonderful thought and suggestions, yet they do challenge you to carry through on a few. It is a wonderful book and makes a great baby shower gift. It beats the heck out of giving a boring gift certificate. Chopra has opened my eyes not only to what gifts I can give to my son, but it reminds me of all the wonderful gifts that my parents and grandparents have given me. VERY UPLIFTING!!!

The lessons in this book are amazing and it is unfortunate that they are segmented in a baby book. I LOVE THIS BOOK and I love the Chopras. As an example of some of the lessons - they are geared to any age, they are about being a fundamentally good person. For example, "I promise to cultivate your passions and help you realize true fulfillment, I promise to remind you that there are many perspectives to any situation", etc. With each lesson their is a story and guidance as to why it's important or wow to achieve it. Often time old tales or fables are used to make a point. This is one of my favorite gifts to give a new parent.
