Product Description

Premium Tyvek Sleeves with Window & Flap. Sleeve size approx. 5" x 5" plastic window is 4" in diameter. Tyvek cd envelopes have a higher strength-to-weight ratio than paper and other cd sleeve materials. It's not only significantly lighter than paper it's stronger. Which can be pretty important when you're sending discs by mail. Tyvek cd sleeves are incredibly water and moisture-resistant making it just as protective in a hurricane as it is from a coffee spill at the office. Liquids simply run off its smooth surface keeping the contents perfectly dry.Weight is lighter than white paper sleeves but the material is stronger than white paper sleeves.Reduced shipping costs while protection is stronger than standard white paper sleeves.Automated packaging grade quality.Good for both end user customers and large volume replication factories.

5.0 out of 5 stars The perfect CD/DVD sleeve, May 10, 2008

This review is from: 100 Tyvek CD/DVD Sleeves with Window & Flap (Electronics)
I'm not sure what the other reviewer was expecting, these are not mailers. These are basic CD/DVD sleeves for storage. Tyvek is like super-strong paper. I have been using this product for years and they are perfect for bulk-storage of CD/DVD's. I would never use paper sleeves, as tiny bits of paper end up on the DVD media and are a pain to remove. Tyvek is durable and does not mark the plastic in any way. At $15 for 100, the price is competitive. I've seen them as low as $13, but if you go to Staples or Office max you'll find them in the mailer isle and they charge $45 for a box of 100! If you plan on long-term bulk storage, Tyvek sleeves are the way to go. I would not use paper sleeves.

These are now very hard to find. Tyvek does not disintegrate, tear, rub off, or stick to optical media. Although there is a plastic window, the back side is all Tyvek, where it needs to be. Cardboard or paper storage envelopes will produce dust that can damage the laser side of disks. Plastic can stick to the laser side. Almost anything else is not as durable.

If you want to store media for years, or if you use your disks heavily, this is your best choice. If not, the usual plastic or paper media will work fine. Store them in a storage box.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Mass Storage of Discs, January 30, 2010

This review is from: 100 Tyvek CD/DVD Sleeves with Window & Flap (Electronics)
With Tyvek disc sleeves, I'm able to cram more discs in the same physical space than with regular -- or slim -- jewel cases. I prefer Tyvek sleeves over paper because Tyvek won't wrinkle, scratch the discs or leave debris on the discs.
