No good for drafting tables,

This review is from: 100 Watt Black Swingarm Lamp
No complaints about the lamp's ability to project light.
If you'd like to be able to actually point said light where you want it, however, you may run into a bit of trouble. The joints on what I guess you can call the elbow and wrist will hold decently, but there is nothing to stop the entire lamp from pivoting on the base wherever gravity will take it. If you've got the lamp clamped to a horizontal surface, I suppose the above won't cause you any trouble. If you're trying to clamp it to the top of, say, a drafting table, you'll probably need to make a few "repairs" to keep it from swinging back into your face.

Bought this and hoped it would be better than the last. It wasn't.
Piece of junk. Never turned on right, and couldn't tighten it down.

I've had Luxo lamps for years but the current crop is not as well made as they used to be. The old ones lasted forever. The new ones seem flimsy, joints do not tighten properly.
