100 Watt replacement is supposed t/b 23 to 28 Watt. I would rather use the 27 Watt to get a little brighter light. I used two 23 Watt CFL bulbs in the ceiling fixture of the study and it lit the entire room (very much like sunlight). I guess it takes some trial and error to get the exact wattage for the purpose.
