Much insight from the Parks Commission point of view,

This book explains a bit of the history of magic of Mackinac Island. Much of the perspective of the book is from the Parks commission point of view. The history depicted inthe book is very well constructed. I learned much I did not know from this book and recommend it.

A well written history of Mackinac and the Park,

This book was a fun, informative read that revealed so many little secrets about Mackinac Island and the State Park Commission. Few visitors probably realize how the commission operates and how it has worked to preserve and develop Mackinac Island and it's history. This book tells the story very well and is supplemented with dozens of photographs, most which I had never seen.
If you buy one book this year about the history of Mackinac Island, buy this one. |
