4.0 out of 5 stars Great book / Poor construction, February 18, 2006

This review is from: 100 Years of the World Series: 1903-2004 (Hardcover)
This is a great book for world series history and photos. The pages of "easy to look up" stats at the end of the book make it a "must have" for any fan of the game, HOWEVER ....it seems the book has been poorly constructed by the publisher. In all the book stores I saw it, I could not find a copy that had an unbroken binding, probably due to customer browsing, I thought. So rather than buy from the stores, I ordered from one of the stores on Amazon (that had a slight discount). When received,it too had a bad binding. I returned it no problem, and ordered again but at regulat price directly through Amazon, but again the book still has a broken binding. I gave up and just kept this one since it covers the topic so well, but just hope all the pages don't start falling out in a few years.

I have found this book simply terrific. it is very hard to do a book on the World Series. There are many of them, but this it is really new as graphic, pictures and stories. The statistics are at the end of the book. A book that has to be in each fan's library.

some of the most fascinating baseball stories in publication! if you have a specific interest in the history of the world series, you're sure to find it here. there's a little bit of coverage on the negro leagues, but from the beginning of of professional baseball, to recent years, it's here to be explored. perfect coffee table or bedside book to leave there and relish over time, or during the seventh inning stretch.
