100 is 100% Value,
By Scorchy (Toronto) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 100 (w/Bonus Live Disc) [Import] (Audio CD)
Andy's previous release '5 Star Hotel' is one of my favorite albums so the anticipation for the new release '100' was exciting and scary. Could he live up to my expectations, would this album blow me away, will he fall flat on his face? I ran out on the day of the release to pick up the CD. And the first couple of listens I was impressed with CD. After a couple more listens the songs and production have really taken a Shine, pardon the pun. I would strongly recommend this to any previous fans and anyone who is looking for a true singer songwriter who has something positive to say. The addition of the bonus live disc is a show stopper, this is what music deals are all about. One disc of new studio music and an additional 13 songs cd of what an Andy show sounds like is just true value for your money. Plus it also contains great versions of Stutter, Superman and my personal fav 22 Steps. So go out, buy some great music and support a true Canadian Artist.

Stochansky's Time To Shine,
This review is from: 100 (w/Bonus Live Disc) [Import] (Audio CD)
I've been playing the new CD by Andy Stochansky nonstop and have yet to take it out of my CD player! His forth twelve-track installment titled "100" presents us with a huge range in style from it's pop-rock pleasantries ('All The Things You Are','Shine', 'Best Years' and 'Butterfly Song'), to ballads that showcase Stochansky's emphatic assertion of a bright, emotionally literate talent ('That Summer'), as well as flourishes that flirt with psychedelic - rock ('Loud') and bursts of balls out rock 'n roll ('America'). 'One Man Symphony' includes a gorgeous assortment of vocals and background percussion, though no aspect of the song so effectively captivates as Stochansky's voice itself. 'Beautiful Thing' uses a lot of Stochansky's elements of songwriting in a very accessible way and may rank among one of Stochansky's most unique compositions. All of the tracks on '100' add up to a fabulous listening experience and make for an intensely lovely album whose appeal should reach everyone with an appetite for electrifying music.
