Okay for beginners
If you've never attended a dog obedience/manners class or read any material on the subject, this might be a good starter book. The information is basic and the list format makes the book an easy read. If you are looking for insight to help refine your current training methods, consider a more intermediate publication.

The book started off with information that I really felt did not help me. Then, as if by magic a few hundred tips in, the book changed course a bit and really started giving me the how and why. The instructions were clear and easy to follow and best of all, my puppy picked up the commands quickly.
I think the flow of the book is awkward, but if you can move past that, there really are tips and instructions in the book that can really help you. I checked my copy out at the library and am now going to buy my own. The author's 10-week plan and follow-ups REALLY work. I promise. Patience and being clear with your verbal and physical cues will greatly improve your relationship with your pet. Good luck. |
