Not what I wanted,

I think I do a fairly good job of researching gifts or surprises for my grandchildren. I simply wanted a big book of stickers, nothing else. This book does have 1000 stickers but it is too sophisticated for a beginning reader. It turned out to be an activity book of which I was not aware. There are activities requiring the children to take stickers off of a specific page and place them on another page. The plus is there are a great variety of colorful, well constructed stickers. The kids, six and below enjoyed looking at pictures, taking stickers off and sticking them on clean paper. The negative is younger children can't complete the activities alone and didn't like granny reading to them and telling them where they had to place the stickers to complete the page.

Stickers Don't Stick,

We received this book today and I am very disappointed with it. Everything else is great--small size for travel, lots of beautiful, colorful stickers, well-organized--but the stickers simply don't stick! It's been frustrating to see my two-year-old work hard to position a sticker just right only to have it fall off when the page is turned. I can understand that the publisher didn't want the stickers too sticky so they could be reused and repositioned, but this is ridiculous. The ones we've been lucky enough to get to stick the first time are barely hanging on. The ones that were manhandled a bit by greasy fingers--well, might as well forget it. We have another Priddy sticker book that has stickers that stick fine and are also somewhat reusable if you're careful; in that book the pages are very glossy, while this book has matte-finish pages. Maybe that makes a difference? I can only hope these stickers will adhere a little better come summer.
Update: I finally just threw the book away; it was pretty obvious the stickers weren't going to stay put unless we took extreme measures like taping or gluing each one in--which I wasn't willing to do. I would now give this sticker book 2 stars because it's nice looking and well organized. Maybe I just got a dud.

Not as good as other priddy books,

I did not realize that this book was smaller than the other priddy books, not a standard 8x11 size. It works well for an airplane trip cause its more compact, but the size of the stickers was smaller, and it really gave me a headache to deal with this on a long trip. My son liked it and hes 3, but the stickers are not well organized, whenever i missed where my son took them out (the stickers have the number of the place where they should be placed on the page where you take them out of), it was impossible to find where they should be in the book since there were no logical groupings. it is 1000 stickers, so it will last you a LONG time.
