Wow. These stories rock. It's great to find a collection oferotica that features women of all sizes, ages, and races for achange.

The stories have great sex in them, but they're also about real people. The sex is part of the story, but not the whole point.

A lot of the other erotica I've read doesn't offer much beyond the familiar, or if the writer tries something new, it's just stupid. But this isn't the case here at all.

Great book. I only wish it were twice as long! :)

This collection of short stories fails to live up to its title. The stories are more snapshots than narratives, and the sexual content is strangely stilted and repetitive. The afterword describing the process behind the work is good, but the work does not, ultimately, display any of the real emotional issues that prompted Newport to write in the first place.

I esepecialy like this book because it has vary life like characters, and like life it is not sex, sex, sex. I has a great personal view of lesbian love. Their pleasure, joy, and desire for one another. Most of the srories in this book are lesbian love sories...so if you are not into that this may not be the book for you. Aside from have great characters pratrayed in this book it also has some vary well written scenes of love and sex.

Okay, I was blown away by this book. I didn't want to be. I've never liked erotica before because it was too silly, all the situations unbelievable or strange. But these stories were brilliantly set up. I fell into the book and lost track of time. I started to forget that these weren't real people (though I suppose many of them are according to the author). The title sums the book up for me: The stories were *exotic*

It was so real. Definitely the best erotica I've read. The emotions, people, atmosphere and textures -- I was there in the stories.

Crackling with energy and heat, here is the first collection of lesbian erotica in several years to offer creative, intelligent erotica that still raises the temperature in the room. Newport offers tantalizing morsels here that, together, make an exquisite feast. A+

A good friend purchased a "gift box" of six lesbian erotica books for me for my birthday. I read them all with some interest but wasn't "won over" until I began "Exotica." God, what a read. The stories are based on real events in the authors life and the lives of her friends... it's true what they say that fact is hotter than fiction. The stories were excellently written and engaging -- I could not put the book down even to eat or sleep --seriously. If you're looking for heavy scene playing or heavy kinky, look elsewhere. But if you're in the mood for something beyond vanilla to get your brain thinking, your heart thumping and your body jumping, I suggest Exotica. It gets my first "two thumbs up" of the year.

Ok, maybe I was looking for something a bit more steamy...but come on! This book has wonderful short stories about Lesbians...but calling the book Exotica and classifying it as such is close to false advertising.

I only have one thing to say: read this book -- it's hot

Amazing collection. Not only are the stories incredibly hot, but they're about real people who are three dimensional. Most erotica collections I've read may feature explicit sex, but most are pretty boring otherwise. This one's different.

The stories are funny, unusual and really unique. Cris Newport just gets better and better as a writer and this collection is great.

The artwork is also very cool.
